Spring Chicken Check-In!

Spring is here, and it’s a great time to give your chook setup a little refresh. 🐔🌱

🧹 Spring Chicken Checklist

☑️ Clean out the coop (Stalosan F, Malaseb)
☑️ Replace with fresh, clean bedding (Premium Animal Bedding)
☑️ Give feeders a good clean
☑️ Refresh and clean water containers
☑️ Check nesting boxes are clean and comfortable

A clean, dry coop helps create a healthier and more comfortable environment for your girls as the weather warms up.

🥚 Now we want to hear from you!

How many eggs are your girls laying at the moment? 🐔🥚

Post 🐴🌾 — Spring Is Coming! Are You Ready?

As we head into spring, it’s a good time to start thinking about the change from winter feeding to spring pasture.

The lush new grass can be very tempting for horses, but a sudden change in pasture can cause problems. Gradually introducing horses to fresh spring grass and adjusting their feed as pasture conditions change can help keep their diet balanced.

It’s also a great time to check that you have your hay, chaff, hard feeds and supplements sorted for the season ahead.

🌱 Spring feed checklist:
✔️ Introduce lush pasture gradually
✔️ Keep an eye on body condition
✔️ Make sure plenty of fibre is available
✔️ Review hard feed as pasture improves
✔️ Stock up on your regular feeds and supplements

Are you ready for spring? 🌸🐴

Pop in and see us at Stockfeeds R Us — we can help you work out what your horse might need as the seasons change.

🐾 KEEPING DOGS ACTIVE IN WINTER 🐾

Cold, wet winter days can make it tempting to stay curled up on the couch — but our dogs still need exercise and mental stimulation! 🐶

When the weather isn't cooperating, here are a few ways to keep your four-legged friend happy and active:

🏠 Indoor games — Try a game of hide and seek, indoor fetch or a good old-fashioned game of tug.

🧠 Keep their minds busy — Puzzle toys, treat-dispensing toys and simple training exercises are great ways to provide mental stimulation.

🌧️ Shorter walks still count — If the weather is miserable, a shorter walk can be just as worthwhile. You can always head out more frequently when conditions allow.

🎾 Make playtime count — A favourite toy and 10–15 minutes of active play can help burn off some of that winter energy.

🐕 Don't forget social time — A play session with another friendly dog can provide both exercise and mental stimulation.

❤️ And sometimes, after all that activity, there's nothing better than a warm spot and a good cuddle!

What does your dog like to do on those cold, wet winter days? 🐾
