Our friends at EpicDog are setting up a not-for-profit to help dogs in need! They've set up this fundraiser so they can cover the costs associated in making the not-for-profit a reality!

This is something really special, and it’s been close to 12 months in the making.

For nearly 10 years, I’ve worked with dogs and their owners at every stage, from the early puppy days, to complex behavioural cases, to dogs who have been given up on entirely.

And there’s something I see over and over again.

So many of these situations could have been prevented.

I’ve worked with dogs who were days away from being euthanised, not because they were “bad”, but because their owners didn’t know what else to do, and didn’t have the right support early enough.

Not because people don’t care, but because they didn’t have the support, the education, or the access to the right help when it mattered most.

And that’s where this begins.

We’re in the process of creating EpicDog Collective, with the goal of becoming a not-for-profit charity dedicated to making dog training, education, and support accessible to everyone.

Not just those who can afford it.
Not just those who know where to look.
But everyone.

Because every dog deserves a chance to stay in their home.
And every owner deserves the guidance to make that possible.

And because no one should have to navigate this alone.

This isn’t something I’m creating on my own.

EpicDog Collective is being built in collaboration with other dog trainers across Adelaide, as well as dog owners and passionate members of the community, all coming together to co-create something better.

A space where people can learn, feel supported, ask questions without judgement, and grow alongside their dogs.

While many organisations step in once things have already gone wrong, EpicDog Collective is about stepping in before that point, through community training days, practical workshops, and real-world education that actually helps people live better with their dogs.

At the same time, we won’t ignore the dogs who need us most.

Through the Collective, we’ll also be taking on selected high-needs and behavioural cases, dogs that require experienced handling, structure, and a second chance, working alongside rescue organisations to give them the best possible outcome.

This is about prevention.
This is about education.
This is about community.
This is about keeping dogs in homes, and changing the trajectory before it’s too late.

We’re ready to start building this now, but we need community support to make it happen.

Right now, we’re raising community funding and donations to help us take the next step, covering the setup of the charity, compliance, insurance, and allowing us to begin running community-based programs.

If you’ve ever:
🐾 Struggled with your dog
🐾 Felt overwhelmed or unsure where to start
🐾 Had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender or euthanise a dog because you didn’t have the answers you now wish you did
🐾 Seen the work we’ve done with dogs who were scheduled for euthanasia, and are now living full, happy lives
🐾 Or simply believe dogs and people deserve better support

I’m asking you to be part of this.

If this matters to you, please consider donating or sharing today.

Even the smallest contribution helps us build something that can genuinely change lives, for both dogs and the people who love them.

Thank you for being here, for supporting what we do, and for believing in a better future for dogs and their owners.

This is just the beginning.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Bonded pair of goats!

"Poppy" and "Simon"
Doe and Wether
~20 months old
Crossbreeds (small, close to miniature size)

Drenched
Vaccinated

Good with other goats
Good with kids and people (super friendly)

Simon and Poppy are two delightful 20-month-old goats looking for a loving, pet-only home where they can continue to thrive together. Poppy, the smaller of the pair, is a beautiful fawn-coloured girl with soft, almost angora-like curls that are lovely to pat. Simon, a slightly larger castrated male, is full of personality and loves to “chat,” always eager to interact and be part of whatever is going on.

Both goats are incredibly friendly and people-oriented. They will happily run up to greet you for pats and attention, and they absolutely love their goat pellets. True to their playful nature, they frolic, bounce, and dive around with all the joy you’d expect from happy, well-loved goats. They are good with other goats and have so far been gentle around children, making them a wonderful addition to a family or hobby farm setting.

Simon and Poppy are vaccinated and have been recently drenched, and they will need ongoing standard care to keep them healthy and happy. This includes annual drenching, regular hoof trims, and vaccinations, as well as access to appropriate mineral blocks, good browse, and sufficient acreage. Hay should also be provided when pasture is limited. They also need goat-proof fencing!

They are available strictly to a pet-only home. They are not for meat and not for breeding.

The adoption fee is $250 each, and the adopter must have a PIC (Property Identification Code). Located in Hamley Bridge, Simon and Poppy are ready to find a home where they will be loved, cared for, and enjoyed as the charming companions they are.

If you’re looking for friendly, affectionate goats with plenty of personality, Simon and Poppy would love to meet you.

PET HOME ONLY

🌾 Twonder & Sando 🌾

A pair of special lost travellers looking for their forever paddock.

Twonder
• Female
• White Dorper (shedding – no shearing required)
• 2 years old

Sando
• Male (wethered)
• Wool breed (requires annual shearing)
• 2 years old

Both:
✔ Vaccinated
✔ Drenched
✔ Healthy and settled in care

💛 Their Story

Twoner and Sando have walked similar paths to find safety.

Both were once “lost” sheep who, in their travels, managed to jump fences into new flocks. Sadly, things didn’t go as hoped. Twonder was bullied by the sheep she tried to join, while Sando discovered that his chosen new home didn’t want him.

That’s how they found their way to Leema Rescue — two wanderers in need of kindness.

We believe both were born in 2024, meaning they are turning 2 this year.

🌼 About Twonder

Twoner is a beautiful white Dorper with a sweet, pretty expression and the short, stocky build typical of the breed.

We kept her for five months to ensure she wasn’t pregnant, so her new home wouldn’t have any unexpected surprises. During this time, she has truly settled. She’ll approach people alongside the flock and has even occasionally tolerated a quick stroke down her nose — especially if food is involved!

🌿 About Sando

Sando is a very tall, striking boy with a distinct dewlap that makes him easy to spot across the paddock.

He is more flighty than Twonder but has improved steadily. His weakness? Silverbeet! He’ll happily approach with the flock for a taste of fresh greens.

🏡 Their Ideal Home

Twoner and Sando are available together only to a loving pet home (no breeding, no meat). They deserve to be cherished as the special lost travellers they are.

Like all sheep, they will require:
-Ongoing drenching
-Quality feed and mineral block
-Routine vaccinations
-Regular vet care
-Annual shearing for Sando

They are healthy, happy, and ready for a calm paddock where they can continue to build confidence and feel safe.

📍 Adoption Details

💲 Adoption fee: $100 for the pair
📍 Located in Hamley Bridge
📋 PIC required

If you have room in your heart and paddock for two resilient souls who have already travelled far in life, Twonder and Sando would love to finally come home. 💛

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

"Jack"
Male
11 years old
Cairn Terrier (approximately 10kg)

Desexed
Vaccinated
Microchipped
Wormed
Heartwormed
Flea treated

Good with dogs, but has always lived as an only dog
Untested with cats
Good with visiting children
Tested well with stock

Jack is a lovely purebred Cairn Terrier boy with that classic terrier spark. He is self-assured, confident, and independent, and has spent the past 11 years in a loving home. Sadly, Jack has come into our care due to a change in his owner’s circumstances.

Jack is toilet trained and, overall, a very good boy in the home. He is used to living with one person and would thrive in a calm household with an individual or couple who can make him a true companion. While Jack is fine with visiting children and other dogs, we believe he would be happiest in a home where day-to-day life revolves around him and one or two special people.

Jack enjoys his walks and is a pleasure to take out and about. He greets other dogs happily and enjoys investigating his surroundings (including thoroughly “watering” everything along the way!). When introduced to our pet goats, Jack showed very little interest, and we believe he would be trainable around stock.

Jack has always lived as an only dog but is good with other dogs. He has not been tested with cats. He can bark a little when outside, but this is not an issue when his people are home or when he is inside.

Jack came into care in a clipped coat, and his new home will need to continue regular grooming to prevent matting and reduce the risk of grass seeds.

Jack is located in Hamley Bridge. His adoption fee is $200, which includes a two-week trial period. Interstate applications will be considered.

We appreciate your interest in Jack and look forward to learning more about your home through the adoption application. We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible in each section.

If you are interested in adopting Jack, please complete an application here: https://forms.gle/RvdsRMTiK27bjkz37

(Additional note: Jack’s breeder is aware that he is currently in care with Leema Rescue.)

Thank you so much EpicDog for helping Stanley! We appreciate your support in making sure that Stanley's next home is forever.

Stan the Man is now available for adoption ✨

What a journey these last 3 weeks have been. With a tendency to resource guard and a bite history to boot, Stanley is the kind of dog that, without tailored guidance and training, would stay in the adoption system for far too long. But I’ve seen firsthand the potential these kinds of dogs have, and so I offered to foster Stan and work through the behaviours that were holding him back from his forever home.

Stanley might be small, but his personality is anything but. He’s a cheeky, clever boy who has a whole lot of love to give once he’s comfortable. Through calm, consistent training and structure, Stan has made amazing progress and I can now recall him off food bowls mid-meal, get him to out high-value items like pig’s ears on command, and he is no longer resorting to violently attacking his lead to get his own way. Overall, he is a much calmer, more level-headed dog than he was 3 weeks ago.

Stanley isn’t the dog for everyone; he needs someone who is patient and willing to implement structure into his life from day dot. He’ll be staying with me until we find the right person, and adopters will receive a complimentary in-home consultation and ongoing support via WhatsApp to set everyone up for success.

If you’re looking for a small dog with a big heart - and an even bigger personality - Stanley might just be your guy. He has overcome so much in just 3 short weeks and he is more than ready to continue growing with the right person by his side.
