Let's talk enrichment. By using meal time mental enrichment activities we can encourage our pets to use their natural instincts, and stimulate their brains!

If you have a busy minded dog breed, it can be a challenge to keep their cup full. On top of regular exercise, we always recommend having some mental enrichment activities to keep them thinking and help keep a happy dog.

A simple and easy mental enrichment activity for dogs is scatter feeding. Instead of feeding your dog from a bowl each day, try scattering their feed in your backyard or over the lawn to encourage their foraging instincts. Dogs will be able to put their strong nose to work to hunt for their food.

And don't forget our feline friends! There are plenty of easy home-made puzzle feeder options, as pictured here, that allow cats to use their clever brains and natural instinct of working for their food.

It's Thursday, and we want to see them! Share a recent photo of your pet below and share your favourite fact about them.

We will go first... This is Marmalade, Marmalade was brought in to our clinic as nearly 14 years ago with a litter of kittens, despite still being a very young cat herself. All of Marmie's kittens found loving homes, but there was no interest in her. Thankfully, she is the perfect KVC Clinic Cat and has found a very happy life living at our Geelong clinic. She thinks that our page should be made into a Marmie appreciation page, open for donations towards her Greenies fund.

Last week has been a great success:
✅ New nap location - unlocked
✅ Duped everyone into giving me more Greenies
✅ Went "missing" for an afternoon (I think the team need to get their eyes checked, I was in hiding spot #73 - a box in the drug dispensary);
✅ Didn't get my blood tested or a weigh in
✅ Enjoyed the sunshine in the backyard
Overall, a great success!!!!
