π Clancy π
Cheeky Clancy was admitted to hospital for emergency treatment after being diagnosed with a urethral obstruction.
A urethral obstruction occurs when the bladder becomes blocked, preventing a cat from urinating. This is a life-threatening emergency that requires immediate treatment, as it can quickly lead to serious complications, including kidney damage.
Our team acted quickly to relieve the obstruction and provide Clancy with the intensive care he needed. After spending some time in hospital receiving treatment and monitoring, Clancy decided he was feeling much better... perhaps a little too much better! πΉ
Not content to wait for veterinary approval, Clancy attempted to remove both his urinary catheter and IV catheter himself. As a result, he earned a rather stylish double-collar setup to keep him safe while his treatment continued. ππ
Despite his mischievous antics, Clancy completely melted our team's hearts and received plenty of extra cuddles and attention during his stay.
We're pleased to report that Clancy made a great recovery and was discharged home to continue recuperating with his loving family. π‘π
β οΈ If your cat is repeatedly visiting the litter tray, straining to urinate, vocalising, or unable to pass urine, seek veterinary attention immediately. A urinary blockage is an emergency and early treatment can be lifesaving.
