Specialising in Freshwater, Plants and Invertebrates (Shrimps and Snails) We don't do Saltwater However the hobby started a very long time for me (1983). I have always had a passion for Technology and Fish and I have always seen that you can learn any subject from this hobby. I hope that the shop would inspire you into seeing new possibilities and new insights. NTA is also an early adopter of tech

nology and we have a strong background in Technology. The founders of NTA is passionate of growing our brand but we will always like to grow our brand with like minded businesses and like minded people. Sometimes the less glamorous jobs make the biggest difference.

Today we're deep cleaning one of the display tanks and removing built-up detritus from the substrate.

It might not look exciting, but regular maintenance is one of the keys to keeping healthy fish, healthy plants, and stable aquariums.

A little work now saves a lot of problems later.

Running a fish business isn't all water changes, packing orders and cleaning tanks.

Every now and then you have to stop, grab some lunch and recharge before getting back into it.

Thanks for dropping by and keeping me company today.

Now it's back to the planted section cleanup and getting the fish room ready for the next stage of improvements.

🧹 Behind the scenes at Nano Tanks Australia.

Today wasn't about adding new fish or setting up new aquariums.

It was maintenance day.

The entire planted tank section received a pressure wash and clean-up to keep the area looking its best and to ensure a clean environment for our fish, shrimp and plants.

A lot of fishkeeping happens behind the scenes. Water changes, cleaning, maintenance and organisation may not be glamorous, but they're an important part of keeping healthy systems.

We're continuing to make improvements throughout the fishroom as we work towards creating a better experience for our customers and livestock.

🐟 Weekly Betta Tank Maintenance Day 🧹💧

One of the less exciting jobs around the fish room is our weekly water changes for our Betta display tanks.

It's not flashy.
It doesn't create a new product.
It doesn't generate a sale.

But it's one of the most important things we do.

Regular water changes help maintain water quality, remove waste build-up, and ensure our Bettas remain healthy, active, and looking their best.

Good fishkeeping isn't about shortcuts—it's about consistently doing the small things well, week after week.

The fish might not thank us, but their health certainly does. ❤️

Fresh stock landed today and has already been unpacked and added to the fish room.
Whether you're setting up your first planted aquarium, rescapeing an existing tank, or breeding shrimp, a good substrate is one of the most important foundations for long-term success.

Today's delivery included a range of AquaEarth substrates, including: ✅ AquaEarth Soil

We're currently sorting stock, updating quantities and making everything available for both showroom visitors and online customers.

One thing I've learnt over the years is that people often focus on the fish and plants they can see, but the substrate underneath is what quietly does much of the heavy lifting.
