Specialising in Freshwater, Plants and Invertebrates (Shrimps and Snails) We don't do Saltwater However the hobby started a very long time for me (1983). I have always had a passion for Technology and Fish and I have always seen that you can learn any subject from this hobby. I hope that the shop would inspire you into seeing new possibilities and new insights. NTA is also an early adopter of tech

nology and we have a strong background in Technology. The founders of NTA is passionate of growing our brand but we will always like to grow our brand with like minded businesses and like minded people. If you feel you have a business or would like to supply to NTA why not PM us. Nano Tanks Australia is at the AusPet Industry Expo! 🐠🌿

Today is about getting out of the shop, catching up with suppliers and people across the industry, and seeing what’s coming next for the Australian aquarium trade.

We’re always looking for things that genuinely make sense for our customers — better products, interesting livestock and plants, and ideas we can bring back and put into practice at NTA.

There'll probably be a few things from today that eventually find their way into the shop. 👀

For now though… quick recharge under a tree before heading back in.

These guys are looking great!

Blue Cherry Shrimp aren’t the most genetically stable colour strain, so you’ll naturally see some variation in colour and intensity — and that’s completely fine with us.

Rather than trying to pretend every shrimp will look identical, we’re happy to separate and selectively breed them into different lines as they develop.

That’s actually part of the fun of shrimp breeding. 💙

Over time we’ll see which colours and traits hold consistently and build our separate strains from there.

We normally like to scrape all our glass tanks dry them out and repaint them again.

WC day at NTA, which means a bit of time out the back looking at the tanks and reflecting on how far this little place has come.

Most days we're so busy working through orders, livestock, tanks and everything else that comes with running NTA that you don't really stop and look around.

Today was one of those days.

And there is certainly plenty to look at at the moment.

We have so many Red Cherry Shrimp in the tanks right now, along with Yellow Shrimp, Albino Blue Topaz Guppies and the beautiful Albino Blue Topaz Ribbon Guppies.

Lots happening behind the scenes, lots still to do, and plenty more to come.

Sometimes it's good to just sit amongst the tanks for a while and appreciate the journey.

That's me with my mate Mark Ong

What makes this photo special isn't really the fish tanks behind us. It's that Mark and I met when we were around 4 years old.

More than 40 years later, he came to visit me at Nano Tanks Australia and we took this photo.

When you're running a small business, it's easy to spend all your time thinking about what's next — the next order, the next shipment, the next problem that needs solving.

Every now and then it's good to look back.

The shop has changed a lot since 2019, and so have we.

But an old mate is still an old mate.

More than 40 years of friendship, with a little bit of NTA history in the middle. 🐟
