A Chatter of Gentlemen - ACG Bird Boarding will be closed from July 2026 until October 2027 🫣

Yes. I know it is a long time but I do have two reasons for this.

Firstly, I am going to be studying and I do not believe I will have enough time to provide the level of care required for my clients.

Secondly, with H5N1 entering Australia, we are prioritising the safety of our birds and our rescue flock at Lazzi's Legacy Bird Rescue & Sanctuary by reducing the amount of birds entering without extended quarantine.

If you require emergency medical boarding, please email [email protected] to discuss the possibility, but we will require a letter from your avian vet to confirm the details.

Once I finish my studies, I will assess whether to offer regular boarding services again over the 2027 summer holidays 💙

We’ve made the decision to temporarily limit our boarding services to budgies and similar small species.

This year, Mon will be focusing on her studies and taking some much needed time to recover from burnout and compassion fatigue from her career in the veterinary industry and rescue space.

This is not a permanent goodbye. We absolutely plan to return to offering broader boarding services, and at this stage, we believe to be open by Christmas 2026. For now, though, we need to take a step back, rest, and reset.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support while we take this break.

Stay safe everyone! It's a scary day here in VIC, my heart goes out to those in the bushfires.

All the boarders are safe, and in temperature controlled environment. We are not in a bushfire prone zone.

Diet conversion success! 👏

We had these budgies for 2 weeks and was able to successfully convert them from a primarily seed diet to a varied chop, crumble and seed mix.

Marcel (blue) was able to lose part of his fat pad while Scribble (green) maintained a healthy weight.

We always offer diet conversion as part of our boarding, but we always follow what the owner's preferred feeding guidelines are if they do not wish to make changes.
