Meet Skittles 🦆💛
Skittles came to see us after developing egg binding (dystocia) A condition where an egg becomes stuck and cannot be passed normally

Thankfully, Dr AJ was able to perform surgery to safely remove the obstruction and give this beautiful girl the care she needed ✨

Egg binding can be a serious and potentially life threatening condition in birds. Signs can include straining, lethargy, a swollen abdomen, difficulty passing droppings, sitting unusually low or spending lots of time on the ground.

Early veterinary attention is important, as some birds may require medical treatment or as in Skittles’ case surgery to resolve the problem.

We’re so happy to have been able to help this gorgeous girl get back on the road to recovery. 💕🦆

We have been made aware of cases of Canine Parvovirus (Parvo) in the community. Parvo is a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening disease, especially for puppies and unvaccinated dogs.

Please keep an eye out for the following signs and symptoms:
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Diarrhoea (often severe or bloody)
🐾 Lethargy or weakness
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Fever

If your pet is showing any of these signs, please contact the clinic as soon as possible.

Vaccination is the best protection against Parvo. If your pet is due for their vaccination, or you’re unsure of their vaccination status, please contact our team to book an appointment.
