🐰💔 23 BUNNIES. 23 LITTLE LIVES. A SECOND CHANCE THEY ALWAYS DESERVED. ❤️
For those who haven’t been following our recent auction or previous posts, we wanted to share the story of the 23 rabbits we took into care from a neglectful situation in South Australia.
It’s hard to put into words what these little souls have been through.
They were all kept together, and many suffered horrific bite wounds. Some have needed extensive treatment and will require surgery. Others have painful sore hocks and infections. Every single one arrived underweight and malnourished, with so much healing ahead of them.
💔 They didn’t deserve any of this.
Rabbits are gentle, sensitive little creatures. They rely on us to keep them safe, meet their needs and protect them from harm. These 23 bunnies were let down, and now it’s our turn to show them that life can be different.
Despite everything they have endured, they are still such sweet little souls. They are deserving of love, comfort, kindness and the chance to simply be rabbits. 🐰❤️
And that is something we believe in for every rabbit, no matter what condition they are in or what they have been through.
They deserve to feel safe. They deserve a soft place to rest, a full belly, room to explore and the freedom to express their beautiful little personalities. They deserve patience when they are frightened, gentle care when they are hurting, and someone who sees their worth even when they are at their most vulnerable.
Their injuries do not make them any less deserving. Their past does not define their worth, and the circumstances they came from should never determine the future they get to have.
Since coming into our care on 3 October, these 23 bunnies have been slowly finding their way towards recovery. Day by day, we are seeing improvements, and every little step forward means so much. ❤️
There is still a long road ahead. Their injuries need ongoing attention, their little bodies need time to regain strength, and some will need surgery before they can begin the next chapter of their lives.
When they are well enough, they will receive their vaccinations, be desexed and microchipped, and eventually begin the search for loving indoor homes where they can feel safe, be part of a family and never have to endure anything like this again.
These 23 bunnies are more than the circumstances they came from. They are not their injuries, their scars or the neglect they have experienced. They are 23 individual lives, each with the potential for a beautiful future. 🐰❤️
We want them to know the comfort of a soft bed, the security of a safe home, the joy of having space to binky and explore, and the feeling of being loved simply for being themselves.
We want their next chapter to be filled with everything their past was missing.
To everyone who has followed their journey, shared their stories, placed bids, sponsored a bunny, donated or left words of encouragement, thank you. You are helping us give these little souls the chance they deserve.
Rescue is not always easy. Sometimes it means taking on more heartbreak than we know what to do with. Sometimes it means facing a long road of veterinary bills, treatment and recovery. But when little lives need someone to stand up for them, we will do everything we can to give them that chance.
They may have come from a place of neglect, but that does not have to be where their story ends.
Every rabbit matters. Every life matters. And every single one deserves love, comfort, kindness and a chance at a better life. ❤️🐰
Their past may have hurt them, but their future can still be beautiful.
And we will be right here, every step of the way, helping them get there.
