In loving memory of Dr Jane Griffin

It is with immense sadness that we share the news that our much-loved colleague and friend Jane, has passed away.
Jane has made a lasting impact on our clinic in her many decades of dedicated service. She will be remembered by her clinic family as a mentor and friend and by our clients as a caring and talented vet.

Our deepest sympathy to Jane’s family, who cared for her so well during her battle.

I was looking after Miss Rotti for an extended period of time so to help keep her occupied I began hiding her food around the property as a treasure hunt. She's a foodie so she loved it. I also put dry food in a Kong and plugged up the end with tinned food. She also loved pushing around the wobbly dispenser so bikkies fell out. And why not use items like the empty egg tray as well instead of putting straight in rubbish. It's only cardboard so doesn't matter if chewed to bits. Suffice to say she was kept busy and me too trying to find new hiding spots.

Working with these gorgeous doggies today 🐾❤️

🐶 Charlie was in for his regular maintenance session. Having had spinal injuries in the past, we focus on keeping him comfortable and moving well with massage, laser, ACCELL therapy and Bowen therapy. And that’s Franklin Charlie’s son sleeping away and support crew 🥰

🐶 Luna came in for some hydrotherapy and strength training to help support her hip and stifle issues, build strength and keep her moving well.

🐶 And then there was lovely, dear old Taz 🥰 At 12 years old and with that gorgeous little sugar face who loves hats!!! Taz is starting to feel a little stiffness in those old joints. Today we supported him with massage, ACCELL therapy, laser and Bowen therapy to help keep him as comfortable and mobile as possible.

I just love being able to work with these beautiful dogs and support them at every stage of life — whether it’s injury maintenance, building strength or simply helping those precious senior joints feel a little more comfortable. ❤️🐾

Today is World African Wild Dog Day. Let's be honest about where things stand.

Fewer than 6,600 African wild dogs remain in the wild, making them Africa's most endangered large carnivore. Their decline is driven by habitat fragmentation, disease, snaring, and road deaths.

They need space. Connected space. And conservation teams that can monitor them across vast, roadless terrain.

The Bateleurs provide that view from above.

In Northern Uganda, ordinary street dogs - often rejected and neglected - are helping war trauma survivors to heal through the incredible healing power of the human-dog bond. The Comfort Dog Project is now in its 11th year and over 138 dogs and survivors are now leading better lives - and driving change in their communities!
Our dog hospital - the only veterinary hospital in the entire northern region - helps dogs in need every day. Our field teams serve dogs in the villages every Saturday.
At The BIG FIX Uganda, we think dogs are worthy of celebrating every day.

Dolly Parton’s life was full of philanthropy, especially when it came to animal conservation and rescue efforts. Dolly loved animals; her impact and legacy will remain through these programs she so loved.

The Eagle Mountain Sanctuary at Dollywood was a project with the American Eagle Foundation to oversee and educate people on bald eagle conservation. This project has helped the many efforts to recover bald eagle populations and get them removed from the endangered species list.

The Doggy Parton clothing and accessory brand donates portions of its funds to Willa B. Farms, a non-profit rescue from Old Hickory, Tennessee.

She also wrote several children’s books about her god-dog, Billy The Kid.

Dolly Parton will be deeply missed by her community, and all other communities she touched with her outreach efforts to help both people and animals alike.
