Eleven years ago, we welcomed the very first foal bred under the Harwin Arabians name.
She was not a Purebred Arabian, but a Part-bred carrying 87.5% Arabian blood. At the time, opportunities and bloodlines in Zimbabwe were limited, so we made the very best breeding decisions we could with what was available. Looking back, her pedigree seems almost secondary. What truly mattered was that she represented the beginning of a visionโa commitment that every generation should be better than the last, and that quality would always take precedence over quantity.
Since that day, Harwin Arabians has grown beyond anything we could have imagined. Our journey has taken us from that first foal to National Champions, international representation, and the privilege of playing a role in preserving and promoting the Arabian horse in Zimbabwe.
As another breeding season begins, and with great anticipation for this yearโs foal crop, this photograph is a reminder that every successful breeding programme starts with a single foal and a dream.
Breeding is never simply a matter of pairing pedigrees. It requires patience, faith, hope, passion, and an unwavering dedication to the pursuit of excellence.
