What a difference a little bit of enamel makes! So the tooth at the front on the left (106) has dark lines of decay where enamel should be - enamel is extremely hard and even though it’s only present in very thin ‘lines’ like ribbons through the teeth it provides the tooth with great structural resistance and reduces the rate they wear down - this tooth has ‘enamel dysplasia’ which means the enamel never formed properly and therefore the tooth is wearing down much faster than the others and has now started to develop small fractures (despite me regularly reducing the opposing tooth which wears into it very rapidly). The tooth on the right at the front (206) is normal for comparison
