🎬🐾 A HUGE THANK YOU TO ROAD HOUSE CINEMA! 🐾🎬

VAWZ would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Road House Cinema for getting behind our spay & neuter initiative and helping us turn movie-going into something that can make a real difference to animals in our community. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for this wonderful partnership and for giving movie lovers the opportunity to enjoy a great film while helping save lives.

Every $5 donation made through this initiative goes directly towards our spay & neuter programme, helping reduce the number of homeless and abandoned dogs in Zimbabwe.

So, if you're heading to the cinema this Friday 2 October or Saturday 3 October, please support these special screenings of Heart of the Beast — and when you buy your ticket, consider adding a donation for VAWZ. 🐕❤️

1900 ($13) standard cinema

Mala absolutely loves her days at The Wag Zone — her home away from home! 🐾

With plenty of space to run, play and burn off her energy, she comes home happy and exhausted every time.

A special thank you to Lighton for taking such wonderful, personal care of Mala and making every visit feel so reassuring.

It’s fantastic value for money, and we couldn’t recommend The Wag Zone’s doggy daycare enough!

**Happier dogs. Stronger bonds. A brighter community.**

🐾 WORLD RABIES DAY — 28 SEPTEMBER 🐾
Rabies is terrifying — but rabies deaths are preventable.
Africa carries a devastating burden, with an estimated 21,476 people dying from dog-mediated rabies every year. And around 40% of those who die are children under 15.
World Health Organization +1
So please teach your children one incredibly important rule:
🚨 IF A DOG BITES OR SCRATCHES YOU — TELL AN ADULT IMMEDIATELY! 🚨
DON'T hide it.
DON'T be scared you'll get into trouble.
DON'T wait to see if you feel sick.
Even a small bite or scratch can potentially expose someone to rabies.
Wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water as soon as possible, and get medical attention immediately. Appropriate post-exposure treatment can prevent rabies from developing.
World Health Organization +1
And remember — once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal. That's why acting quickly is everything.
World Health Organization +1
For our dogs, prevention starts with vaccination, responsible ownership and keeping dogs safely under control. Vaccinating dogs is one of the most effective ways of preventing human rabies.

Teach your children.
Vaccinate your dogs.
Treat every bite seriously.
Save a life. 🐾❤️

🌱🥕 FOOD-SWOP SATURDAY IS COMING TO THE WAG ZONE! 🐾

On 17 October 2026, in celebration of Origin, we’re starting something a little different — and we’d love you to be part of it. 🌍💚

Bring along anything home-grown or home-made from your garden or kitchen and let’s gather, share, trade and connect.

🥬 Have too many tomatoes?
🥚 Got more eggs than you can use?
🌿 Herbs taking over the garden?
🍋 A bumper crop of lemons?
🍞 Made something delicious at home?
🌱 Seeds, seedlings, preserves, plants or produce?

Bring it along and let’s see what we can swap!

And it’s not just about the food. It’s about community — sharing knowledge, ideas, gardening tips, recipes and a good old-fashioned social while reducing waste. ❤️

We have an idea of how this will work… but we’re guessing the creases will be ironed out with time! 😂

So come along, bring what you have, bring your enthusiasm, and let’s see what grows from it.

🌍 ONE HUMANITY
🌱 ONE PLANET
🌎 ONE FUTURE

Do what you dig so we can reap what you sow. 🌱

📅 Saturday 17 October 2026
⏰ 7:30am – 9:30am

Let’s make it the first of many Food-Swop Saturdays! 🥕🥑🍅🌿

🌍 HOW TO LIVE ON EARTH — FULL FILM

This is one of those films we think everyone should watch.

We share this planet with an extraordinary web of life — forests, rivers, insects, birds, animals, and people — yet the way we live is having an enormous impact on the world around us.

“How to Live on Earth” asks us to stop and consider something very simple:

🌱 How do we actually live well on this planet — without destroying the very systems that keep us alive?

It’s thought-provoking, inspiring and especially relevant to the way we think about nature, community and our responsibility to the world we share.

At The Wag Zone, we often say that although our park caters for dogs, it's really about the whole park — from the smallest insects to the largest birds, the many fish and even the occasional lonely terrapin. 🐕🦋🐦🐢🌳

So take some time, make yourself a coffee ☕ and watch the full film.

🎬 Watch it here: (see link in the comments)

Then tell us what you think. 💚

One Humanity.
One Planet.
One Future. 🌍

Testimonial Tuesday

From rescue pups to confident, happy social butterflies 🐾
Bruce has been bringing his two rescue GSD pups to The Wag Zone for the past month, and the difference has been incredible. They’re loving every visit, building confidence through socialising, and strengthening their bond with Bruce along the way.

And the best part? It’s a little decompressing time for Bruce too.
