GDV IN DOGS:

EVERY SECOND COUNTS!

Have you ever heard of GDV?

Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV), also known as bloat, is a life-threatening emergency in dogs.

In this week’s case study video, Dr. Graeme explains GDV in dogs and shows us the X-rays, helping us understand what happens inside the stomach when this emergency occurs.

GDV can progress rapidly and requires immediate veterinary attention.

Knowledge can save lives! Share this post to help other pet owners recognise the signs.

Watch Dr. Graeme’s video to learn more!

Those ears are talking… are you listening?

Today, Dr. Daniel is chatting about ear infections in dogs — what to look out for, common signs, and why those itchy, sore ears shouldn’t be ignored!

If your pup is constantly scratching their ears, shaking their head, rubbing their face, or you notice redness, swelling or an unusual smell… it’s time to get those ears checked.

Tune in to Dr. Daniel’s video and learn how to keep those floppy (or pointy) ears happy and healthy

WORLD RABIES DAY | 28 SEPTEMBER 🐾🌍

Rabies is a serious but preventable disease that affects animals and people — and prevention starts with us.

• Keep your pets’ rabies vaccinations up to date.
• Avoid contact with unknown or stray animals.
• Be aware of unusual behaviour in animals.
• If you or your pet has been exposed to a potentially rabid animal, seek professional advice without delay.

Every vaccination is another step towards protecting our pets, our families and our community.

Vaccinate. Prevent. Protect.

From all of us at Lowveld Vet@ White River — because healthy pets mean healthier communities!
