Moving is stressful enough as it is but Mia has no idea the surprise she is in for when she gets to her new home.

🧡🐾 1 SEPTEMBER — GINGER CAT APPRECIATION DAY! 🐾🧡

Today we celebrate those gorgeous little orange bundles of personality who somehow manage to be sweet, mischievous, affectionate, completely ridiculous and utterly irresistible all at the same time! 😂🧡🐱 And today, we also remember the beautiful gingers we have lost along the way. 🌈🐾

Over the years, I have met the spicy 🌶️ and the complete polar opposite — loving, gentle and fiercely loyal. Ginger kitties have a way of standing out amongst all the beautiful colours we are blessed with.

I have been privileged to have many gingers come through Catopia as guests. Some have been so incredibly loving that you simply cannot help but let them creep into your heart. 🥹🧡 Others have been so spicy and feisty that you very quickly learn to respect their space! 😂🌶️

And then there are those who are simply misunderstood — where what appears to be aggression is actually nothing more than a defensive façade hiding a frightened or uncertain little soul underneath. ❤️‍🩹🐾

Personally, I only ever had one ginger rescue of my own — my beautiful Miss Ginger Mommy — and she will forever hold a very special place in my heart and in my memories. 🧡🌈 I have been blessed to meet many more gingers along the way, and I also have a few beautiful orange faces amongst my feral colonies. 🐈🐾

Sadly, we have also lost some of our precious ginger Catopia guests over the years. 💔 They have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and will forever be remembered and memorialised on our Catopia Memorial Wall. 🌈🕯️🐾

Gingers really are lucky packets — you never quite know what you're going to get! 😂🧡

From fiery little troublemakers 🌶️😹 to the biggest cuddle bugs, ginger cats certainly know how to make their presence known. Anyone who has ever shared their life with one will know there can be A LOT of personality packed into that orange coat! 🔥🐱

Whether they're deep orange, dilute ginger, marmalade, cream or somewhere in between, today belongs to them. 🧡

🐾 The gingers who share our homes.
🐾 The gingers who have become part of our Catopia family.
🐾 The gingers we care for in our feral colonies.
🐾 And the beautiful ginger souls we have loved and lost. 🌈🧡

Thank you for your loyalty, your continued support, your recommendations and referrals, and most importantly, for trusting me with your precious babies. 🥹🐾

There is something incredibly special about seeing familiar little faces returning through our doors time and time again. And it is equally wonderful welcoming new guests and watching them slowly realise that Catopia is a pretty great place to have a holiday too! 😹🏡

WHISPER IS OFFICIALLY SORTED! 🎉🐾

To say that Vet Appreciation Day is every day when you're involved in rescue is an understatement!

I am so incredibly grateful for my vets and for the solid relationships I have built with them over the years. 🙏

When you work in rescue, having vets who truly understand what you do is priceless. Every rescue is different, every animal has different needs, and sometimes our circumstances aren't quite as straightforward as the average vet visit. My vets understand that. They have come to know me, my rescues, my ferals, my expectations-and probably my sometimes rather mundane instructions too! 😂

Pulse Veterinary Clinic Teresa, thank you once again for fitting me in today so that we could get little Whisper sorted. 🩵

And Dr Naz, you are always incredible.🩵 Thank you for understanding my rescue work, listening to my gripes and putting up with me😂🙏

And the BEST news... about Whisper

And yes... I WAS RIGHT-she is a little girl! 😂🩷

My baby girl has:
🐾 Tested NEGATIVE for the nasties! 🙏
🐾 Been sterilised ✂️
🐾 Had all three of her vaccinations 💉💉💉

YAY!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Whisper is currently sleeping off her anaesthetic and I'm quite sure that when those little eyes eventually open, her first concern will be finding out when dinner is being served! 😂🥣

Today was another huge step towards the beautiful future waiting for this little girl.

🐾 DECEMBER 2026 – CATOPIA IS ALMOST FULL! 🐾

And just like that, we’re almost at the end of August 2026! 😱 Where has this year gone?

Last year, December holiday bookings started a little more slowly, although we were completely booked out by October. This year is very different.

🎄 We are already almost fully booked for the December peak period.

Most of our confirmed bookings have already paid their 50% deposits, which means those suites are secured. Our current 2026 availability calendar reflects the limited space we have remaining.

Please, please don't leave your kitty's December holiday accommodation until the last minute. ❤️ We genuinely hate having to turn our regular guests away, but Catopia has limited space and, once our suites are booked, we simply cannot squeeze in another kitty.

🐱 IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR DECEMBER

Due to the limited availability remaining, we have now closed December peak bookings for single cats.

Our larger suites will be prioritised for families of TWO OR MORE cats from the same household who can comfortably share a suite.

This allows us to use the limited accommodation we have as efficiently as possible while still giving every guest the space, comfort and standard of care that Catopia is known for. 🏡🐾

📅 If you're planning to travel in December, please check our availability calendar and book as soon as possible.

A booking is only secured once the required paperwork and 50% deposit have been received.

🎄🐱 December is coming much faster than you think!

We would much rather say "Welcome back!" than "I'm so sorry, we're full." 💚
