🚨 HEARTBROKEN AND IN URGENT NEED OF YOUR HELP 🚨
Last night, while our animals slept, our SPCA became the victim of a break-in.
The perpetrators gained access to our property through our farmyard area, where they broke through our precast wall slabs to enter the premises. Once inside, they targeted the very items that help us care for the vulnerable animals entrusted to us.
Among the stolen items were our washing machine, which had been generously donated less than three months ago, dog beds, blankets, washing baskets, and the large plastic containers we use to wash and soak bedding.
We are devastated.
Winter has firmly arrived in Vereeniging, and temperatures are dropping daily. The stolen blankets and bedding were used to keep our animals warm and comfortable, while the washing machine played a critical role in ensuring that their blankets and bedding remained clean and hygienic.
It is heartbreaking to think that anyone would steal from a charity dedicated to protecting and caring for animals. We are already operating under immense financial pressure, and now we face the additional burden of replacing essential items that were generously donated by our supporters.
Today, we are appealing to our community for help.
🙏 We urgently need:
• Blankets (new or gently used)
• Dog beds
• Washing baskets
• Large plastic tubs/containers
• A washing machine
Every item stolen directly impacts the comfort and wellbeing of the animals in our care. Our priority remains ensuring that they are warm, safe, clean, and comfortable throughout the cold winter months.
