With the warm, humid Durban summer rolling in, ticks and fleas wake up in full force. In KZN, grass and coastal trails become hot spots for parasites that can carry tick bite fever and severe allergies.
Protecting your pets before an infestation takes hold is key!

🐾 WORLD ANIMAL DAY | 4 OCTOBER 2026

SEE THE WORLD THROUGH THEIR EYES

What if, just for a moment, we stopped looking at the world only from a human perspective?

Through the eyes of a wild animal, a forest is not a resource.
A river is not a commodity.
A home is not something to be developed.
And another living being is not something to be owned.

Animals experience the world in their own ways. They feel pain, fear, comfort and stress. They seek safety, food, shelter and companionship. They form relationships and respond to the world around them.

Yet our choices shape their lives every day.

🌿 Habitat is destroyed.
🚧 Roads fragment their territories.
🌊 Pollution changes their environment.
🌡️ A changing climate alters the places they depend on.
🐾 Wildlife is captured, traded and exploited.

World Animal Day 2026 asks us to see the world through their eyes.

To pause before we act.
To consider the consequences of our choices.
To make room for other species.
And to recognise that animals are not here simply for our use.

Compassion begins with seeing animals as individuals and as fellow inhabitants of a shared living world.

See the world through their eyes.
And perhaps we will learn to live differently. 💚
