Tonight, as New Year’s Eve arrives…

As the celebrations begin, we brace ourselves for another night of fear, panic, and heartbreak.

Fireworks terrify animals. Every year, pets bolt in terror, go missing, get injured and some never make it home.

🚫 SETTING OFF FIREWORKS IN CAPE TOWN IS BANNED AND ILLEGAL.

There are NO exceptions!

Anyone caught setting off fireworks, causing distress, or harming an animal WILL FACE PROSECUTION.

πŸ“ž Report illegal fireworks to City of Cape Town Law Enforcement:
021 480 7700

🐾 Protect your pets tonight:

β€’ Keep them indoors and secure.
β€’ Close curtains, play calming music.
β€’ Stay with them if you can.
β€’ Make sure they are microchipped or wearing ID tag.

Our Inspectorate and Medical Teams will be on call all night, because while humans celebrate, animals suffer.

Fireworks are not a celebration to them.
They are a nightmare.

🐰PLEASE READ CAREFULLY🐰

We have 5 bunny pairs that will soon be up for adoption – mostly male and female. These pairs are, however, on different timelines as they are from different litters and still need to be sterilised. We will definitely consider homing them individually if you already own a rabbit.

β™₯ Please note that these buns will not be homed to a place where they will be kept in a small cage.
β™₯ People with children need to understand that children might get tired of pets and looking after them, so the adults should be willing to step in and assist in caring for them.
β™₯ They will need adequate space (more than 3m in length, and bigger is better) as they have been spending most of their time outside in the neighbourhood and a large garden.
β™₯ Rabbits require a lot of work as their living spaces need to be well-kept to prevent parasitic and other infections.

See some photos of the cuties below. If you might be interested in adopting any of them, please reach out to us on 0733167862 or [email protected]. Adoption fees are R550 for male bunnies and R650 for female bunnies.

Yesterday we were devastated when the company who were supplying us with pallets informed us that they could no longer help us as their suppliers wanted all their pallets back starting now, we are extremely heartbroken as so many township dogs have no shelter or very little, we have delivered 2038 kennels to date but have so many more dogs to help.

Please if you know of anybody that has pallets who will give them to us or we can pay a moderate price for them, please contact me, we can't stop now.

Update on Bailey 😍

A very happy chap, being the only child and protecting his retired mama. Dare we say he dotes on her like no one else had ever before πŸ˜‚πŸ₯° but, it’s because he gets all the spoils and love and he never ever has to share that again.

Just like his sister Lulu, he loves his soft (and hard) toys and wants to be as close to his human as possible. He is very playful and scares off all the baddies with the odd bark.

Thanks for all your support so that we are able to do exactly this πŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸ«ΆπŸ½

Hey fam 🐾

Just an update on Lulu and how she has become a fully grown, full-bodied lady πŸ₯°

See some photos below of a happy gal.

To be honest, even on the day she was rescued and basically devouring our hands for some kibble, she was a happy girl. Now she is really living her best life, chasing hadedas, destroying plastic bottles and soccer balls, and sleeping warm in a cozy bed inside the house. She has come to be a girl who is very protective of her new family, but maybe it’s because she does not want to lose out on yet another opportunity of having a family of her own.

Some heartwarming photos of her brother, Bailey, to follow!
