Vlottenburg Stables Full livery in irrigated grass paddocks. Live-out with shelters, open stables or traditional stables. Situated 7kms from Stellenbosch and 10 min from SDRC.

Our yard is family owned and run and we live on the property. We offer livery with permanent grazing, stunning outrides in the vineyards and a relaxed atmosphere to come and spend time with your horse. We also have many different arenas and jumps for the competitive rider. We like to keep our horses as naturally and stress free as possible. Our SANEF qualified yard managers also keep their own horses on the property and always strive to add that personal touch.

We are very proud of our riders for placing 1st and 2nd in the Amateur division of the Novice WC Dressage Championships. Not bad for a yard where cake and ch*****ne are often prioritised over schooling 😉

Here at Vlottenburg Stables we tend to think of riding as a group activity, but we're having a hard time fitting all of us into the same arena. We can manage 3 riders in the 40x20 and 4 riders in the 60x20, but more than that and we have a few close calls. Keep in mind some of our riders are not good at steering/forget to look up/have a hard time focusing, because we're also discussing and solving each other's problems at the same time, obviously. The theory is if we double the 40x20, surely we can fit 6 riders at a time? 🤔 😃

We took 6 horses to Mistico showing and won Novice Show Hunter, three of the Newcomers classes, BTO and Best Rider. Our Newcomer riders can now move up to Novice classes for the next one. It was a fun day with great people, looking forward to Champs!
