🐾Rose’s Journey Back to Life🌹

Four months ago, Rose had almost given up on life.💔 Today, she’s ready for a second chance.

Remember Rose, whose story we shared back in December?

Rose arrived at AWSS in early November in heartbreaking condition. She was suffering from advanced mange, open pressure sores, and was severely starved. Rose had been living alone under a bakkie in a community, without a home or anyone to care for her. By the time she reached us, she had almost given up hope.

But Rose is a fighter.💪

Over the past few months, she has slowly healed and begun to discover the things every dog deserves - a full tummy, a soft bed and the kindness of humans. Watching her transformation has been nothing short of incredible, and we are unbelievably proud of the dog she has become.🐶

Now it’s time for the next chapter in Rose’s story: finding the loving home she truly deserves.

Over the past 4 months, many of us have come to know and adore this magnificent, larger-than-life character. Rose is:
• Around 2 years old
• Large breed (about 30 kg)
• Full of confidence and energy
• Crazy about food and treats
• Loves walks and runs, and is fantastic on the lead
• Absolutely adores people👨‍👩‍👦‍👦
• Would enjoy a home with a medium/large sibling but would equally thrive as a single dog
• Please no cats!🙀
• Has a non-shedding coat

Meet Liam, our dashingly handsome, foxy looking boy! With his stunning red coat and sweet, soulful eyes, he might just be mistaken for a fox.. 🦊🧡

At around 4 years old and weighing 15kg, Liam is the perfect small to medium companion. He’s gentle, calm, and excellent with all dogs - from playful pups to seniors and he absolutely adores people too! 🥰

While generally low-energy and happy to relax by your side, Liam still loves a ball 🎾 and really enjoys playing with his camp mates. Since arriving at the shelter, he’s also learnt to walk on the lead. 👏👏

🌻Meet Nugget… Hoping for Her Second Chance!🌻

Nugget is a beautiful black and tan young female, around 18 months old and medium in size, whose story has tugged at our hearts. 😓

Adopted from the shelter as a puppy, Nugget sadly found herself back with us due to a change in her owner’s circumstances. It’s always incredibly hard to see a dog return to the shelter. But despite the initial fear and sadness, Nugget has adjusted beautifully. Rescue dogs never stop showing us just how resilient they are. 🌟

Nugget is social, affectionate, playful, and full of life. She spends her days happily racing and rolling around with her new best friend Kelsey. 💛

Nugget would be perfect for a home with younger, active people who she can entertain for hours, and she would love a canine friend to share her adventures with. More than anything, this sweet girl deserves a place where she can feel safe, loved, and at home again.

Meet Leo 🐾 Two Years and still waiting for his chance.

Leo is a striking small medium (15KG) black and tan gentleman with the kind of soul that stays with you long after you walk away. ❤️

He’s been a resident at our kennels for two years now and is estimated to be around 4 years old. Like many dogs who arrive as adolescents, the shelter world was a big adjustment but through it all, Leo has remained the same at heart a social, affectionate boy who thrives on connection. He especially enjoys the company of friendly female dogs and builds bonds quickly. 🐕

Leo is playful, soft natured, and deeply loving. He adores young children and has a natural understanding of boundaries that makes him a joy to watch around them. When it comes to playtime, fetch speaks directly to his soul throw a ball or toss a rope and you’ll see a spark light up in him. 🪢 🎾

What truly sets Leo apart, though, is the way he draws you in without ever demanding attention. Walk past his camp fence and you’ll feel it his whole body pressed gently against the wire, eyes soft and longing, silently asking for just a moment of love.
