🐾❤️ WELCOME HOME RUBY! ❤️🐾

Ruby went missing on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at around 10:00 AM from Just 4 Paws Groomers in Wapadrand, Pretoria East.

Her parents, Neil and Candace, immediately sprang into action. They posted on social media, drove around searching for Ruby, notified all the vets and created their own missing posters, which were shared by numerous networkers. They did everything they could to bring their precious girl home. ❤️

Yolanda Van Der Merwe then contacted Neil and Candace and recommended that they use our services. Early on Sunday morning, Yolanda started networking Ruby using the poster she had created and which was approved by us, sharing it on Searchlight and other groups (the video of them being reunited is in the link below shared on Sunday).

We informed Neil that, due to the heat, we would only be able to go out at 4:00 PM. He was understandably sceptical about whether our services would work.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for! 🐾

K9 Loki, together with Natasha Winkworth his Mom and handler tracked Ruby and found her approximately 300 metres from where she had gone missing at Just 4 Paws Groomers! ❤️

As shown on the attached map, Ruby had crossed the road and entered a complex through a palisade fence.

Nicci calmly guided Neil and Candace when Ruby was found. She was frightened, but what a relief it must have been for her to see her Mom and Dad again! She was finally going home, where she belongs. 🏡❤️

Ruby didn’t want to leave her Dad’s side, and who could blame her? After such a frightening experience, and with her separation anxiety, all she wanted was the comfort and security of her family.

This is why we do what we do. Every missing pet has a family waiting, worrying and praying for their safe return. The moment they are reunited makes every effort worthwhile. 🐾❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who shared Ruby’s poster, helped network her, and never gave up hope. And well done to K9 Loki and Natasha Winkworth for bringing Ruby’s adventure to a happy ending!

🐾❤️ MISHKA IS HOME SAFE! ❤️🐾

On the morning of 3 October, 14-year-old Mishka suffered an anxiety seizure. Frightened and disorientated, he did something he had never done before. He ran up a tree and managed to get through the electric fencing of his home.

When his mom, Lorraine (76), saw what had happened on their surveillance footage, she immediately went looking for him, but Mishka was nowhere to be found. 💔

Lorraine contacted her sister, Lynne Kotze, who immediately posted Mishka on Facebook.

They were advised to contact K9 Loki, and on 4 October, they did exactly that.

Because of Mishka’s age and medical needs, we knew time was critical. We went out that same evening.

🐾 K9 Loki picked up Mishka’s scent and tracked extensively through the panhandle area surrounding their complex. Our Mapping Specialist independently worked on the search area, and the mapping indicated the same direction as K9 Loki’s track.

The fact that both K9 Loki and the Mapping Specialist indicated the same direction gave us an important area to concentrate our efforts.

On Tuesday, 6 October, we returned to the area and distributed posters and flyers throughout the area indicated by the search.

Then, on the morning of Wednesday, 7 October, we received the call we had been hoping for. ❤️

A gardener named Jabu called to say that he could see Mishka on the roof of a garage.

Lorraine immediately went to the house.

And there he was. It was Mishka! 🥹❤️

Mom decided right there and then that she was going to do whatever was necessary to get her boy home. At 76 years old, she climbed onto the garage roof herself.

And then came the most beautiful moment…

Mishka recognised his mom. ❤️

He didn’t hesitate. He went straight to her.

After four frightening days away from home, Mishka was finally back where he belonged. 🏡🐾❤️

A huge thank you to Jabu, whose call brought this search to its happy ending, to everyone who shared Mishka’s posters and kept looking, and to everyone who supported the search.

And to Lorraine, a mother’s determination knows no age limit. ❤️

🐾❤️ YOSHI IS HOME! ❤️🐾

Yoshi went on an adventure on 6 April 2026. When he still hadn’t returned home by the next day, Mom knew something was wrong and reached out to us for help.

The following day, our team arrived, and K9 Loki was ready to show us where Yoshi had gone. Loki tracked Yoshi to Cedar Lakes Estate, which borders his home.

After making a few calls, we gained access to the estate. Loki confirmed that Yoshi was indeed there, but our clever boy had no intention of showing himself. 🐾

We distributed posters throughout the area and reminded Mom that giving up on her boy was never an option. And she never did. ❤️

Then, on Sunday, 27 September 2026, almost six months later, we received a call from a lady living in Cedar Lakes Estate. Her daughter had seen the poster outside the estate, and she was convinced that her cat had found Yoshi.

We immediately put her in contact with Yoshi’s Mom Ravona Naidoo.

Not long afterwards came the message we had all been waiting for…

IT WAS YOSHI! 🥹❤️

Almost six months later, Yoshi was finally back home where he belonged. He was a little skinny, but thankfully in good health.

Mom never gave up.
And Yoshi never stopped finding his way home. 🐾❤️

🐾❤️ MEEUW IS HOME! ❤️🐾

Meeuw went missing in Centurion on 14 September 2025.

As a team, we did not go out to search for Meeuw. Instead, we guided Mom on what she could do, helped with her poster and networking, and stayed in constant contact, motivating her not to give up. We encouraged her to keep reaching out to vets, rescues and feral feeders.

Then, on 24 August 2026, almost a year later, Mom received the call she had been waiting for…

Meeuw had been found! 24km’s from home. ❤️

A vet in Waterkloof Ridge contacted her after Meeuw was spotted eating with a feral colony. The feeder noticed that he was still wearing his collar and took him to the vet.

Based on his condition, we believe Meeuw had been living with someone and somehow found a way to leave.

This reunion is such an important reminder: sometimes it takes more than a K9. It takes networking heroes, a committed pet parent who refuses to give up, reaching out to vets, rescues and feeders, and getting posters into as large an area as possible.

And then, almost a year later…

🐾❤️ PEBBLES IS HOME SAFE! ❤️🐾

Pebbles went missing on 25 August 2026. Another K9 unit tracked her behind her home, but there was no sign of her.

Mom and Dad then contacted the K9 Loki team. On 4 September, Loki tracked Pebbles across the communal park and into a complex opposite her home. He was adamant she was there. 🐕❤️

On 8 and 9 September, we put up posters throughout the area.

Then, on 10 September, an amazing lady who had seen our poster contacted us. She believed Pebbles was hiding around her garage area.

Mom was contacted immediately, and a few minutes later came the call we had been waiting for…

IT WAS PEBBLES! 😭❤️

She had been in that complex all along, but wanted nothing to do with anyone except Mom!

K9 Loki knew. He was in the Complex K9 Loki tracked him. ❤️🐕

After 16 long days, you are finally home. ❤️
