How can an one year old dog be this muscular? This was Dobby more than a year ago!
I've had lots of people comment on how they can see Dobby's ribs. And I get it, ribs normally equals underweight. But this is not always the case.
It can be normal for a fit, healthy, and highly active dog to have slightly visible ribs when exercising or breathing heavily. This is because vigorous activity burns off excess fat, leaving the ribs covered mainly by muscle and skin.
Unfortunately, many people are accustomed to seeing overweight dogs and mistake a healthy, lean physique for being underweight. Dobby is also a much longer, leaner dog, which exaggerates this characteristic.
