'n Vrou in Texas het ontdek haar kat lei ’n verrassend toegewyde lewe, hy woon glo elke Sondag getrou ’n kerkdiens oorkant die straat by.

Volgens haar verdwyn die kat elke Sondagoggend op dieselfde tyd, sonder enige geraas of huiwering, en stap eenvoudig by die huis uit asof hy ’n vaste afspraak het. Hy keer later terug, dikwels met die reuk van kos en parfuum, en duidelike tekens dat hy deur verskeie mense vertroetel is.

Nuuskierig het sy hom een dag gevolg. Tot haar verbasing het die kat reguit by ’n plaaslike kerkie ingestap, agter in ’n bank gaan sit en die hele diens rustig bygewoon.
Die predikant het bevestig dat die kat gereeld opdaag, stil bly tydens die diens en aandagtig voorkom. Hy veroorsaak geen ontwrigting nie en het reeds ’n bekende gesig onder die gemeente geword.

Lede van die kerk het hom selfs ’n naam gegee, en dit lyk asof hy reeds ’n gunsteling onder die kerkgangers is.
