The goal of using equipment is to encourage the horse to work correctly, never to force it into a predetermined shape. Aids extremely beneficial to guide, and not control, the horse’s movement.
The art of using equipment lies in knowing when to use it, and when to let the horse find its own balance.
Equipment will help correct bad habits, but it’s our job to teach and reward the good ones.
The horse’s well-being should always be the primary consideration when using equipment or aids.
