Outreach is about more than providing veterinary care — it’s about listening, educating, supporting and giving owners the knowledge to keep caring for their animals long after we’ve gone.
Because when we empower the people, we help protect the animals too. 🤍

Sometimes an article manages to put into words something we see on every WanderVet outreach:

**A lack of access to veterinary care does not mean a lack of love.** 💛🐾

We are incredibly proud to see Dr Annarie Greyling and WanderVet's work featured by IOL, following an outreach where 42 animals were sterilised, alongside vaccinations, parasite control and preventative veterinary care.

But the story is bigger than the procedures.

It is about making responsible choices possible by bringing veterinary care within reach. It is about sharing knowledge with owners. And it is about veterinarians, volunteers, welfare organisations, partners and supporters each bringing something to the table.

Because lasting animal welfare is something we build together.

What an incredible outreach day! 🐾

Together we sterilised, vaccinated and dewormed 42 animals, with every patient also receiving tick and flea treatment, a warm blanket, a toy and dog food.

A huge thank you to Dotsure for your incredible support. Your generosity helped make this day possible and allowed us to make a real difference in the lives of these animals and their families.

Together, we're changing lives—one animal at a time. 💙

🐾 **Sonheuwel Outreach – Volunteers Needed!** 🐾

Hi everyone!

We're excited to announce our next WanderVet outreach, taking place on **Saturday, 18 July 2026** in **Sonheuwel, Pretoria North**, close to **Onderstepoort**.

Our goal for the day is to:
🐶🐱 Sterilise approximately **40 dogs and cats**
💉 Provide core vaccinations
🪱 Deworm animals
🦟 Administer tick and flea treatment

We're looking for volunteers to join us for what promises to be a rewarding day of community veterinary work.

This outreach is especially ideal for **Onderstepoort veterinary and veterinary nursing students**, as it's close to campus and offers a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience while making a real difference in a community with very limited access to veterinary care.

Whether you've volunteered with WanderVet before or would like to join us for the first time, we'd love to have you on the team!

If you're available on **18 July**, please reply to this message or send me a private message so we can start planning numbers, catering and logistics.

Please also feel free to share this message with any fellow veterinary or veterinary nursing students who may be interested.

After a quieter season, WanderVet is preparing for another outreach — bringing veterinary care and education to communities where it’s needed most.

This outreach will include:
🐶 Dog sterilisation, vaccination & dipping
🫏 Donkey castrations and treatment
💛 General animal healthcare

If you’d like to be part of this journey, there are a few simple ways to help:

• Donate items like dog beds, blankets, or bowls
