We received a call on Wednesday regarding two goats, both with injured front legs, grazing near Baywest Mall, at the end of Walker Drive.

We could not find them. We also asked a youngster on his off road bike to search in the field around the mall.

If you spot them, please let us know. 🙏

Thank you so much to Dunette and Dennis Bosch for the wonderful donations of chairs, containers and money 💰 for our clinic's waiting area. ❤️

Mount Road SAPS - you are 🌟 stars.

Thank you for serving your community - those with 2 legs and sometimes 4 with a shell. 🐢🐢

17 tortoises were removed from a property today. 13 were alive, but sadly 4 were already deceased. We will investigate the matter further and take action.

The tortoises are being transferred to a wildlife expert for care, rehabilitation and release. Wild animals belong in the wild. 🐢

Squashed into a trolley they sit, in rain, sunshine or wind. The missing feathers points to their sad history. No water. They hear and smell the blade cutting into another chicken above them. This would not be tolerated if these were dogs or cats. Please do not support such cruel, illegal slaughter and sale of meat practices, even if it is a few rands cheaper than in store. At what cost to the animals, did you save a few rands?

We issued warnings and reported it to the Health department. Hawking of live animals is illegal without a permit from NMBM. Only registered abattoirs may slaughter and sell meat to public.

We also provided water, using a simple cooldrink bottle for urgent relief.

!!! Guy Fawkes !!!

And the most dreadful time for animals is approaching ...

'N LEKKER VIR 'N CRACKER :
We are starting with our traditional education and collection of crackers and tires in the northern areas in exchange for sweets. If you would like to help us, please donate sweets, lollies etc.
Drop off points is at the Bargain Box Shop, corner of 9th Avenue and Main Road Walmer or at our Clinic in Cleary Park.

REPORT ILLEGAL SALE:
A few big stores are licensed in terms of the Explosives Act to sell crackers and fireworks. However, it is ILLEGAL for any neighborhood SPAZA SHOP to sell fireworks as they are NOT licensed and do not comply with the safety requirements. Please report ILLEGAL SALE to the Fire Department on 041-585 2311.
