πŸ’‰THE HEADACHE THAT IS FLU VACCINATIONS🐴

Are you confused by what flu vaccinations your horse needs in order to compete? Don't worry, you're not alone! πŸ˜‚

Here is the CURRENT requirements (yes they change more frequently than a teenager changes outfits!)

Step1:
Was your horse born before 2020?

YES: Do they show ANNUAL vaccination without any interval exceeding 12 months, ALL administered by a vet in their completed passport?

If they do, great - you're good to go!

If not, go to step 2.

STEP2: Your horse was born AFTER 2020 or doesn't meet the requirements above:

Primary course to be done:
V1 Day 0
V2 Day 22 - 60
V3 Within 6 months and 21 days of V2

Thereafter annual vaccinations are required.

If after the primary course, any interval between vaccinations exceeds 12 months - the PRIMARY course must be repeated πŸ™ˆ

Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure you communicate what vaccinations your horse needs!

Remember, last minute is no good. NO HORSE MAY COMPETE IF ANY VACCINATION IS GIVEN WITHIN 7 DAYS OF COMPETITION!

Good luck and please, rather drop your passports for vets to check, sending photos isn't ideal!

🚨🐾 KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. PROTECT OUR ANIMALS. 🐾🚨

We are seeing an increase in reports where cases are not being opened at police stations β€” and this needs to be addressed.

❗ Refusing to open a criminal case is a violation of SAPS National Instruction 3 of 2011.

No matter the situation, you have the right to open a case.

You may NOT be refused because:
🚫 You don’t know the suspect’s name
🚫 You didn’t bring the suspect with you
🚫 The incident happened in another area
🚫 The officer feels it’s β€œnot serious enough”
🚫 You are told to β€œsort it out yourself”

πŸ‘‰ This is unacceptable and against SAPS protocol.

πŸ“Œ What should happen:

βœ” You must be treated with respect and courtesy
βœ” A full sworn statement must be taken
βœ” Your case must be registered immediately
βœ” You may NOT be sent to another station

πŸ“’ REPORT IT

If an officer refuses to assist you:
☎ SAPS National Complaints Centre
πŸ“ž 0800 333 177
πŸ“ž 0860 264 487

🐾 IMPORTANT FOR ANIMAL WELFARE

Did you know?
πŸ‘‰ Dog napping, pet abandonment, animal cruelty and neglect are CRIMINAL OFFENCES.

If you witness or experience this β€” open a case. Do not be turned away.

πŸ’™ Speak up. Stand your ground. Protect those who cannot speak for themselves.
