Because their exoskeleton doesn’t stretch, they must shed their old skin to grow bigger and stronger.

🕷️ They can molt many times in their lifetime
Young tarantulas (slings) molt often, while adults may molt only once a year—or even less!

✨ Molting is a vulnerable time
During a molt, tarantulas are extremely soft and fragile. That’s why they often hide and refuse food before and after molting.

After molting, tarantulas may have brighter colours, longer legs, and even regenerated limbs!

🤍 Patience is key
It can take days or even weeks for a tarantula to fully harden after a molt—so no handling allowed!
