😑 COMMUNITY, WE NEED TO TALK 😑

We are extremely disappointed to once again find alcohol bottles being dumped along the fence of the Pietermaritzburg SPCA.

This is not just litter. These bottles often break, leaving dangerous shards of glass where animals, staff, volunteers, and members of the public could be injured. Every time this happens, valuable time and resources have to be spent cleaning up someone else's mess instead of focusing on the animals who need our care.

The SPCA exists to serve and protect animals in our community. It is disheartening to see the area around our property being treated as a dumping ground.

We are asking our community to stand with us. Please respect the neighbourhood, respect the work being done here, and respect the animals in our care. If you see people littering or dumping bottles in the area, speak up if it is safe to do so, and help us encourage responsible behaviour.

Keeping our area clean and safe is everyone's responsibility. We can and should do better than this.

Please share this post and help us send a clear message: dumping rubbish outside the SPCA is unacceptable.

These photos are from outside our fence this morning. Sadly, it is becoming a regular occurrence.
