Kennel cough spreads easily wherever dogs get together, from daycare and boarding to the dog park and the groomer. Most dogs bounce back within a few weeks, but puppies, older dogs or unvaccinated dogs can get sicker.

Two years ago today, Jaime had her right hind leg amputated 🩷

It wasn’t where her story started. This big Anatolian Shepherd first came to us in 2024 with both cruciate ligaments ruptured. Then came two TPLO surgeries, a stubborn infection that fought us every step of the way, months of flushes and bandage changes and eventually the hard decision to amputate.

Yesterday her mom sent us this:
“Runs, jumps, plays! We can do 2km walks unassisted and she is still entitled and simply lovely.”

Still entitled. We wouldn’t have it any other way 😄

To every surgeon, nurse, night-shift carer and receptionist who was part of Jaime’s journey: this one’s for you. And Jaime, thank you for showing us what three legs and a big personality can do 🐾

This World Mental Health Day, we’re shining a light on something our profession doesn’t talk about enough.
