Cape Town has home ground advantage this Saturday 🏉
And when it comes to your pet’s care, so do you!

Just like the Boks have their squad behind them, your pet has theirs too. Our specialist team is right here, ready to provide advanced care when it matters most.

And while match day is all about the gees, busy roads, open gates, excited households and a little extra chaos can sometimes lead to unexpected pet emergencies. If something does go wrong, we’re here 🐾

Here’s to a safe match day for every member of the family. Go Bokke! 🇿🇦 💚 💛

Vomiting and diarrhoea are symptoms, not diagnoses.

The same signs can be caused by something as simple as an upset stomach or by a condition that needs urgent treatment. The symptoms may look the same. The cause can be completely different.

That's why diagnostics matter. Your vet uses your pet's history, examination and diagnostic tests to identify the underlying cause and recommend the right treatment.

When your pet isn't feeling well, it can be hard to know what to do next. We're here to answer your questions, talk through your concerns and help you decide on the best next step for your pet.

The Bokke are playing, the braai is going and someone is definitely shouting at the TV 🇿🇦

For us, it’s match-day gees. For our pets, the extra noise, visitors, open doors and very tempting braai snacks can bring a few unexpected risks.

A little preparation can go a long way towards keeping your four-legged family members safe and comfortable while you cheer on the Boks 💚💛

Swipe through our match-day pet safety checklist, save it for Saturday and share it with whoever’s hosting the rugby!

And if match day doesn’t quite go according to plan, our team is here if your pet needs emergency veterinary care.

August is Pet Immunisation Awareness Month 💉

They’re happy, healthy and getting on with the very important business of being your best friend. And vaccination is one of the simplest ways we can help keep it that way 💙

Vaccines help protect our pets against serious infectious diseases and that protection doesn’t end after their puppy or kitten vaccinations. Keeping the right vaccinations up to date remains an important part of their lifelong care.

This Pet Immunisation Awareness Month, take a moment to check your pet’s vaccination record 📅

Not sure when their last vaccination was, what they’re due for, or whether they’re fully protected? Chat to our team about the vaccination plan that’s right for your pet.

Because prevention isn’t only about avoiding illness. It’s about protecting more happy, healthy years together 🐶 🐱

Is your pet always scratching? 🐾 It might be more than an itch. This Itchy Pet Awareness Month, don’t let the itch become their normal.

An occasional itch is normal. But when scratching becomes frequent, keeps them awake, causes red or sore skin, or simply keeps coming back, it may be their way of telling you something isn’t quite right.

If your pet’s itching is persistent, worsening or affecting their quality of life, chat to one of our experienced vets about the next step!

Because every pet deserves to feel comfortable in their own skin! 🐶 🐱

Episode 3 | See You Soon, Layla 🩵

A milestone worth celebrating! 🩵

Today, Layla completed her final radiation treatment and proudly rang our treatment bell, a tradition that celebrates the courage of every patient reaching the end of their radiation journey.

Although her treatments are complete, healing is still underway. Radiation continues working long after the final session and we'll continue monitoring Layla closely over the coming weeks. With nasal tumours, it's also normal for some signs to temporarily worsen before improvement begins.

Our goal has always been the same: to improve Layla's comfort and quality of life.

To Layla's owner, thank you for your unwavering trust, patience and dedication throughout this journey. It has been a privilege to care for Layla and we're so grateful to have been part of her story.

We'll be Layla on every step of the way! 💙

Small acts. Big impact 💙

This Madiba Month, our reception team challenged everyone at Vetscape to spread kindness in ways big and small — proving you don’t need grand gestures to make a difference.

From supporting local animal shelters to brightening someone’s day with a simple act of generosity, every effort reflected the compassion Nelson Mandela stood for.

A special congratulations to our receptionist, Linke, whose beautiful handmade blankets for animal shelters earned her this year’s Acts of Kindness challenge prize. Thank you Linke, for reminding us that kindness, stitched together one act at a time, can make the world a little warmer for the animals who need it most.

We’re so proud of our team and grateful to everyone who helped make this Madiba Month one to remember.

“It is in your hands to make a better world for all who live in it.” — Nelson Mandela
