Good afternoon to our lovely clients and your sweet fur babies!

This weekend is going to be nothing short of a scorcher!

With that, we are sending out a friendly reminder to pay extra attention to these factors:

> Make sure your animals have ample water, we also encourage putting some water out for our wildlife friends!
> Make sure your animals have access to shade.
> Refrain from strenuous exercise to avoid heat stroke.
> Avoid walking on hot roads.
>If you are travelling with your dog, ensure that windows are open.

Happy New Year to all of our clients and their gorgeous fur kids.

Please note we are closed today on the 1st of January.

Owner found.

Ginger cat found. Is he yours?

We have had a young male ginger cat brought into us this morning. Found in Chichester road Noordhoek. Unfortunately he was dead on arrival so we are unable to post a photo. The cause of death is unknown.

His microchip was unfortunately never regisiterd.

OH NO, Its that time of year again!!!

GRASS SEEDS! FOX TAILS! GRASS AWNS!

We see a lot of animals at the vet because of these grasses.
These grass seeds hook themselves onto the coat or in the ear of the dog with their barbed ridges, as the dog moves the grass seed is able to pe*****te the skin and cause further issues which usually requires surgery.

Symptoms could be:
A swollen irritated spot on the paw or between the toes.
incessant shaking of the head with discomfort.
Swollen sensitive area on the side or under side of your dog.
Prevention:
Try avoid these gassed areas if at all possible.
After a walk in areas with these grasses please don't forget to thoroughly check your dog's body, if your dog has a thick coat grooming with a good brush would be very wise.

The long weekend is in full swing!
Some are on holiday and some at home but wherever you are please remember to stay safe.

We are open as usual tomorrow, from 9am until 12pm and on Sunday for emergencies only, from 11am until 12pm .

After we close the vet will be available on the after hours number (082 775 5055) until 6pm for emergencies only.

Out of these hours you will need to contact the 24hour animal clinics.

Looking for a loving home!

The current foster parent is leaving the country in one week. Despite efforts to look for a home nothing has been found yet.

Freya is a gorgeous GSD mix, around 8years of age.

Good with children and other dogs. Unfortunately not great with cats.

She doesn't need a lot of space or exercise. Just a nice stroll a couple of times a week, two or three small meals a day, and to be able to sleep in your room at night.

Ideally a family where there is someone who is always home. She is a socialite who doesn't mind who she is spending her time with, as long as it is SOMEONE. She doesn't jump or bark and walks wonderfully on leash. Her hearing is starting to go, but otherwise she is still in good health.
