Horses have a remarkable talent for finding new and inventive ways to injure themselves!

Dr Jacqui was kept busy this morning stitching up not one, but two equine patients. Thankfully both procedures went smoothly, and the highlight of the morning was watching each horse enjoy a lovely standing nap courtesy of their sedation while their wounds were repaired.

Last night, Zagreb decided to pick a fight with a porcupine.
Spoiler alert: the porcupine won.

This morning he arrived with 4 quills lodged in his mouth and throat — because apparently “leave it alone” is merely a suggestion.

After having all 4 quills removed, he’s absolutely fine and has hopefully spent a little time reflecting on the adventurous life choices that landed him here.
We’re starting to think he just likes coming to see us. 😅
