Does your dog suddenly forget its name the moment you call it?

You call once… twice… five times… and your dog just looks at you like you’re speaking another language! 😂🐕

🧠 DOG TRAINING TIP: RECALL

Repeatedly calling your dog when it ignores you can accidentally teach it that the command doesn’t matter.

Your dog may learn that “COME HERE!” is just background noise because nothing changes when it ignores you.

🐾 So, what should you do?

✅ Teach your dog what “come” means in a quiet, distraction-free environment.

✅ Say the command once and give your dog a chance to respond.

✅ Reward your dog when it comes to you.

✅ Practise regularly and gradually introduce more distractions.

⚠️ Remember: Don't keep shouting the same command louder and louder. Build the behaviour first, then practise it in more challenging environments.

The goal is to make coming to you worthwhile for your dog! 🐕❤️

The truth is, it’s usually not stubbornness. There’s often a reason behind the behaviour.

👉 1. The command hasn’t been properly taught.
Your dog needs to understand exactly what you’re asking before they can consistently respond.

👉 2. Your dog has learned that ignoring you has no consequence.
If there’s no consistency, your dog quickly learns which commands they can ignore.

👉 3. The environment is more interesting than you.
