I obtained my Dog Trainer Diploma from Pet Sense College after spending many years living and working with dogs and horses. I am always in awe at the profound impact these animals can have on humans' mental and physical health, even if they are our "rescue."

Loki and Io do very basic scent games/training for fun. Mostly treat based but sometimes objects, including horse shoes.

So we are, in fact, in need of finding a missing horse shoe in a large horse camp.

The dogs are masters at not coming out of the car until released.

Apparently, the skill did not transfer to the bakki, a vehicle I rarely drive. So in Husband’s absence, guess what we have been working on?

It’s been just over a year since we adopted Io (the blond dog) from the SPCA. She joined Loki, a former street dog, that the SPCA also scooped up around 7 months prior.

She’s come a long way since the surgery she had 4 weeks after we adopted her that left her highly reactive and unconfident.

There remains much work to do.

But what a joy to see her and Loki progress.
