⚠️ IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTICE | PLANNED BLASTING ACTIVITY

Residents are kindly advised that authorised blasting activity is scheduled to take place tomorrow, 31 August 2026 in the Noordheuwel area.

Please be assured that this is planned and legally authorised activity being conducted under the required regulatory permissions and safety procedures.

During the operation, residents in the surrounding area may hear one or more loud explosions or experience noise and possible vibration. Please do not be unnecessarily alarmed.

🐾 SPECIAL NOTICE TO PET OWNERS

We strongly encourage residents to take additional precautions with their animals. Sudden loud noises can frighten dogs, cats, horses and other animals, even some distance away.

Please ensure that pets are safely secured, gates and fences are closed, and nervous animals are preferably kept indoors or in a familiar secure environment. Make sure pets cannot bolt through an open gate or escape from the property if startled.

We are sharing this information in advance purely as a community safety and awareness notice, particularly so that families and pet owners have an opportunity to prepare.

Please avoid approaching or interfering with any controlled operational area and follow any safety instructions that may be given by authorised personnel on site.

There is no need for panic. This is a planned, authorised operation.
Please share this notice with neighbours and especially with anyone who has animals that may be sensitive to loud noises.

🐾 K9 SHADOW | WEEK ONE AT BCI K9 ACADEMY 🐾
Trust. Patience. Relationship. Then Training.

When another security company places one of their K9s in your hands and trusts you with her development, that means the world to us. ❤️🐕‍🦺

This week marks K9 SHADOW’s first week at BCI K9 ACADEMY, and while some may expect training to start immediately with commands, obedience and serious work… we believe the foundation comes first.

For Shadow, this first week is about PLAYING, SOCIALISING and BUILDING TRUST.

She is getting to know our handlers, learning the environment, exploring the Academy and discovering that this is a place where she can feel confident, safe and excited to work.

Before we ask a K9 to work for us, we first need to build a relationship with that K9.

There is no rushing the process.

A confident working dog is built through trust, patience, consistency and positive experiences. Once that relationship is established, Shadow will begin her basic obedience, and from there we will gradually build her skills and introduce the next stages of her training.

This is only WEEK ONE… and her journey has just begun. 💪🐾

Today, we are incredibly proud to welcome the beautiful K9 Shadow from LEGENDARY GUARDIANS EXCLUSIVE PROTECTION to the BCI K9 Academy family.

Shadow is about to begin an exciting new chapter a journey of learning, development and specialised training that will prepare her to become a confident and capable working K9 within the security industry.

It is always inspiring to work alongside security companies that share our passion for our four legged heroes companies that recognise their potential, believe in their abilities and give them the opportunity to grow into the working dogs they were born to become.

A Day of Learning, Laughter and Life Lessons at The Little Farm Yard Pre‑School

BCI Security had the privilege of presenting our K9 Crime Awareness Program at The Little Farm Yard Pre‑School. Joined by our incredible partners ECSA, Mapogo Security, Mogale Fire, Netcare 911, Mogale Traffic, and the Crime Wardens we delivered a valuable lesson in crime awareness and community safety.

Together, we taught the learners important life skills and gave them a glimpse into what it takes to work in the fields we proudly serve. The demonstrations were energetic, educational, and filled with excitement.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Col Van Eeden who pulled this all together, every little learner, every educator, and each of our partners for making our visit truly special. We hope the children walked away with memories that will last a lifetime.

🐾 FAREWELL TO BCI K9 DIESEL | THE CHOSEN ONE 🐾

Ten years ago, I drove all that way To Pretoria to choose you but the moment I saw you, I knew that somehow, you had chosen me too. I knew you were destined to become an extraordinary K9.

Diesel, you gave so many loyal years of service to BCI Security. You were courageous, dependable and always ready to protect. You helped apprehend countless suspects and removed so many drugs from our streets. You made a real difference and left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Behind your strength was the most beautiful, gentle soul. You were more than a working dog you were our partner, our protector, our companion and a deeply loved member of the BCI family.

Thank you to every handler who worked beside Diesel, especially Elias, who guided, trained and cared for him throughout all these years. The bond you shared was something truly special.

Our hearts are broken, and the BCI K9 Unit will never feel quite the same without you.

Rest peacefully, our brave Big Boy…our beloved Diessa. Your work on earth is complete. Go now and fly with the angels, my beautiful Diesel.

Good dental care is an important part of your K9’s overall health. Plaque and tartar can lead to bad breath, painful gums, infections, loose teeth and difficulty eating. If left untreated, bacteria may also affect other parts of the body.

Help protect your K9 by:

Brushing their teeth regularly with dog safe toothpaste
Providing suitable dental chews or toys
Checking for bad breath, red or bleeding gums, and broken teeth
Scheduling routine dental check-ups with your veterinarian
Never use human toothpaste, as it may contain ingredients that are harmful to dogs.

A healthy mouth means a happier, stronger K9 ready to learn, train and enjoy life! 🐕🦷
