❤️ update!! : the kitten has found a home, thank you everyone ❤️
✨️ Cute kitten looking for a loving forever home or a foster home until she can find a place to go✨️
Dr Kelly rescued this little kitten , who was found in a shredder in a factory.
We think the little one is a girl 🩷 , but she is only 4 weeks old. We have tested her for Felv and FIV and her tests were negative ! 🎉We are battling to get her to eat/drink kitten milk consistently, but the more we give her the stronger she feels ! She is a little fighter. 💪🐱
We are giving her a mixture of royal canin stater mousse and royal canin kitten milk , all of which will be sent with you if you decide to take her on.
Please contact Dr Kelly on her clinic phone if you would like to adopt this little one or foster her and nurse her back to health.
For now she has lovingly be named : "Shredder" 😉

🐾 Support the Midrand SPCA Fundraiser! 🐾
The Midrand SPCA does far more than provide shelter for animals in need. Every day, their dedicated team works tirelessly to protect vulnerable animals, investigate cruelty cases, combat illegal dog fighting, and educate our communities about responsible animal care.
Through their outreach programmes, they bring hope and practical support to animals and owners who need it most. Their work changes lives—not only for the animals they rescue, but for the people and communities they serve.
This fundraiser is an opportunity to help them continue this vital work. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference and helps ensure that animals in our community receive the care, protection, and second chances they deserve.
Please consider supporting this fundraiser and sharing it with your friends and family. Together, we can help the Midrand SPCA continue being a voice for animals who cannot speak for themselves. ❤️🐶🐱

Update: Cat's owner has been found! Thank you everyone!
His name his fluffy and his chip was registered this evening by his owner , so if he ever goes missing again , he can easily be returned home ❤️

A sweet cat has gone missing in the Sun Valley area !
She has been picked up by a good samaritan in Sun Valley who has been caring for him the last few days.
Today we scanned him for a microchip and he does have one ... but unfortunately the microchip was never registered.
The microchip number is: 953010004482989
If this is your cat please call us on 083 375 3006.
Help us get this beautiful kitty home !

It's getting colder and colder 🥶 so today we decided our ICU patients should have an outside hospital bed , so they can warm up in the sunshine ☀️☀️ our dedicated practice manager, Shelby the Jack Russel, kept a close eye on our patients, making sure their drips kept running and their food bowls were full at all times.
We hope these two make a speedy recovery so they can bask in the winter sun at home❤️

🐾 Big News for Breeders, Working Dog Owners, and Large Breed Lovers! 🐾
We are thrilled to announce that our practice is officially PennHIP Certified! 🎓✨
Choosing the right hip evaluation method is one of the most important decisions you can make for your dog's future health, breeding program, or working career. While traditional screening methods have been the standard for decades, PennHIP is an absolute game-changer.
Here is why this advanced method is the way to go:
🔹 Catch Instability a Year Earlier
Traditional methods require you to wait until a dog is 12 to 24 months old to get an official score. PennHIP can be performed safely and accurately as early as 16 weeks of age. This allows breeders to make earlier choices and pet owners to implement preventative care long before arthritis even begins.
🔹 It Measures what Actually Matters: Laxity (Looseness)
Traditional X-rays look at the hip in a single, tight position to check for existing bone damage or arthritis. But arthritis is the result of the problem, not the cause. PennHIP uses specialized views to measure passive joint laxity—the actual genetic "slack" or wobble in the joint. By measuring the looseness directly, we can predict the risk of hip dysplasia before damage ever occurs.
🔹 Pure Science, No Guesswork
Instead of a subjective visual grade (like Excellent, Fair, or Poor), PennHIP calculates a strict, mathematical value called a Distraction Index (DI) between 0 and 1. It is entirely objective, dramatically reducing human error or varying opinions between reviewers.
🔹 Breed-Specific Data
When your dog gets their score, they are compared directly against a massive global database of their own specific breed. This gives you an incredibly accurate percentile rank to see exactly where your dog stands compared to their peers worldwide.
Whether you are aiming to improve your breeding lines, protecting a high-performance working dog, or just want peace of mind for your new large-breed puppy, we are ready to help you invest in their long-term mobility.
