We are a mixed animal practice with a 24 hour equine ambulatory service.

Our equine clinic boasts a portable x-ray machine, ultrasound and scope and is thus able to to preform a variety of in depth diagnostics.

🐾💙 Happy Veterinary Nurse Day 2026! 💙🐾

Today we celebrate the veterinary nurses who dedicate their lives to caring for those who cannot tell us what hurts. 🐶🐱🐴

Being a vet nurse is so much more than cuddles and cute patients. It’s the long days, the messy moments, the sleepless nights, the anxious owners, the critical patients, the happy recoveries, and sometimes the heartbreaking goodbyes. It’s being there through every step, advocating for our patients, offering comfort when they need it most, and supporting both the animals and the people who love them.

It takes compassion, patience, resilience, dedication, and a whole lot of heart. ❤️

As the nurse at Grand Central Veterinary Clinic i feel incredibly privileged to be part of this profession and to play a role in the care of the many patients who come through our doors. Every patient we help, every recovery we celebrate, and every life we make a little better reminds us why we do what we do.

To all the veterinary nurses out there: thank you for the love, dedication, and countless hours you give to your patients. Your work matters, your compassion makes a difference, and you are an invaluable part of the veterinary team. 🩺🐾

🇱🇸🐎 What an incredible four days in Lesotho!🐎🇱🇸

We are incredibly grateful to have been part of such a special veterinary outreach alongside an amazing team of 11 veterinarians, 2 veterinary nurses and 2 farriers, together with 80 students from Onderstepoort University and 60 students from Lesotho.

Over just four days, this incredible team came together to provide veterinary care to more than 28,000 animals! 🐕🐈🐎🐑🐐🐖🐄

From dogs and cats to horses, sheep, goats, pigs and cattle, it was an incredibly busy few days filled with hard work, learning, teamwork and, most importantly, making a difference to animals and the communities who care for them.

A very special thank you to Dr Edward Evans, who arranged for us to be part of this outreach and made it possible for us to go. While we were away, Dr Ed worked in the clinic and fielded every call that came in so that Kelly Kelly Vander Heyde and Kirsty Kirsten Baxter could have the opportunity to go and help.

Thank you to every veterinarian, nurse, farrier and student who gave their time, energy and skills, and to the wonderful people of Lesotho who welcomed us so warmly.

We are incredibly proud to have represented Grand Central Veterinary Clinic on this outreach and to have been part of something so meaningful.

🐴🇱🇸 Lesotho Veterinary Outreach – September 2026 🇱🇸🐴

Dr. Kelly and Sr. Kirsty (along with a large veterinary team) are heading to Lesotho this September to provide much-needed veterinary care to horses and donkeys in need. ❤️
We’re collecting farrier equipment, horse tack, blankets and grooming equipment. Financial donations can be made to the banking details on the poster below. If you have any unused items you’d like to donate, they can be dropped off at Grand Central Vet Clinic.
Every donation, big or small, can make a difference! 🐎❤️

❤️ update!! : the kitten has found a home, thank you everyone ❤️
✨️ Cute kitten looking for a loving forever home or a foster home until she can find a place to go✨️
Dr Kelly rescued this little kitten , who was found in a shredder in a factory.
We think the little one is a girl 🩷 , but she is only 4 weeks old. We have tested her for Felv and FIV and her tests were negative ! 🎉We are battling to get her to eat/drink kitten milk consistently, but the more we give her the stronger she feels ! She is a little fighter. 💪🐱
We are giving her a mixture of royal canin stater mousse and royal canin kitten milk , all of which will be sent with you if you decide to take her on.
Please contact Dr Kelly on her clinic phone if you would like to adopt this little one or foster her and nurse her back to health.
For now she has lovingly be named : "Shredder" 😉

Update: Cat's owner has been found! Thank you everyone!
His name his fluffy and his chip was registered this evening by his owner , so if he ever goes missing again , he can easily be returned home ❤️

A sweet cat has gone missing in the Sun Valley area !
She has been picked up by a good samaritan in Sun Valley who has been caring for him the last few days.
Today we scanned him for a microchip and he does have one ... but unfortunately the microchip was never registered.
