Dogtales At Dogtales we welcome all breeds & use positive reinforcement & force free methods only Specializing in explosives detection, EDD & MDD.

Dogtales Puppy School is founded & owned by Sheri Rosslee who is an accredited K9 Behaviorist & K9 trainer. Sheri has studied through the Ethology Academy doing her basic, advanced & practitioners. Further studies include Thinking Pets confi-puppy & Denel-Mechem achieving her highest level in working with & training service dogs. Registered with Psira & SASSETA. We work on a first come, first serve basis so booking before hand is crucial. We have group classes every Saturday morning. Basic obedience training for beginners & puppy adolescence classes. Children are welcome as they form part of the socialization but need to be under the supervision of an adult. We welcome all breeds, and only positive reinforcement methods are used. Dogtales also offers one-on-one classes for behavioral related issues. We understand that not all dogs are able to socialize and therefore we offer these classes so that they too can be part of training. We use certain training techniques according to the dogs specific needs. Positive reinforcement training is encouraged. Dogtales also has their very own Pet Sitters Club available to those who need a reliable & qualified pet sitter. All Nanny's have extensive background experience in working with animals & all have their police clearance certificates. Trained to work with all dogs. Bringing home a new puppy? Before you fill your shopping cart with every cute toy, fancy bed and puppy accessory, remember that a happy puppy doesn’t need a house full of things! 🐶

It’s not about how much you buy, but how thoughtfully you prepare.

A comfortable place to rest, a few appropriate toys, safe walking equipment and the basics for everyday care are more than enough to get started.

What matters most can’t be bought: patience, consistency, routine and time spent building a relationship with your puppy.💚

Keep it simple. Focus on what your puppy actually needs, and add to your collection as they grow.

After all, the best investment you’ll make isn’t in puppy supplies — it’s in raising a confident, happy and well-adjusted companion.

TICK SEASON IS HERE! 🕷️

With the warmer weather, ticks are becoming more active, and it’s important to keep our dogs protected!

🐕 A few simple precautions:
✔️ Stay up to date with tick preventatives.
✔️ Check your dog after walks, especially around the ears, neck, paws and belly.
✔️ Keep grass and overgrown areas trimmed.
✔️ If you find a tick, remove it carefully with a tick-removal tool or fine-tipped tweezers.

🚨 Know the signs of biliary:
Lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, pale gums, weakness or dark urine.

Biliary can progress quickly, so if you notice any of these symptoms, seek veterinary attention immediately.

A quick tick check can go a long way in keeping your dog safe!💚

"My sausage dog won’t stop barking at guests.” That tells us what the dog is doing—but not why.

Is the barking driven by alarm, fear, excitement, frustration or a need for distance?

Does it begin at the gate, stop when the guest sits down, then restart when they move?

This case stays open because barking isn’t a diagnosis. Before trying to stop the noise, we need to understand the pattern around it.

The barking is loud. The clues are quieter. 🐾
