Our Komatipoort vet shop wouldn’t be the same without Thobile. She spends most of her days working on her own, helping our clients, looking after our patients and their people, keeping the shop going and somehow managing to be the friendly face everyone knows and loves. 🐾❤️

🐾😂 THE BROMANCE NOBODY SAW COMING… 😂🐾

Meet Ozzie — handsome Border Collie, professional clinic visitor, and apparently Dr. Brand’s biggest fan. 🐶

Ozzie was adopted by his mom, Jean, from Border Collie Rescue, and he came with a bit of baggage from his past. Sadly, Ozzie had been abused by a man, which meant that he understandably struggled to trust men.

Then along came Dr. Brand.

With a bit of patience, kindness, gentle handling… and we suspect the occasional bit of bribery 😉… Dr. Brand somehow managed to win Ozzie over.

And now?

They’re basically best mates. 😂

When Ozzie comes to the clinic, he has one very important question:

“Where’s Dr. Brand?” 👀

He will happily sit and stare towards the back of the clinic, waiting for his favourite doctor to appear.

Forget everyone else.
Forget the rest of the clinic.

Ozzie has arrived for his bromance appointment. 😂

And when Dr. Brand finally appears, Ozzie’s entire face says:

“THERE HE IS! My guy!” 🐶😂

It’s pretty special to see how much trust Ozzie has developed. A dog who once struggled to trust men now sits patiently watching the back of the clinic, just waiting for one particular man to come out.

Dr. Brand and Ozzie: proof that sometimes all it takes is patience, kindness… and possibly snacks. 😂🐾

If there's one thing Dr. Tessa won't love about today, it's being the centre of attention... but we're making an exception!

Between raising three children, keeping up with her fitness, and helping steer our clinic, she somehow makes it all look effortless.

She's known for her sharp wit, legendary puns, and the dedication she's shown in building the clinic into what it is today.

Today is Sky Grahams 6th Birthday, a sweet and shy Border Collie and one of our much-loved long-time patients, who has an extra reason to enjoy his special day this year! 🥳

Last week, Sky came to see us after his owner noticed a small wound and swelling on his left side that had grown rapidly over just a couple of days. To investigate the cause, Sky was sedated so that we could safely examine and remove the lump.

The culprit turned out to be a tiny grass seed that had become lodged beneath the skin in the subcutaneous tissue, causing irritation and swelling.

The grass seed was successfully removed, and Sky went home with pain medication and antibiotics to aid his recovery.

Grass seeds may seem harmless, but they can sometimes work their way into the skin and cause significant discomfort, infection, and swelling. If you notice an unusual lump, wound, or swelling on your pet, it's always best to have it checked out sooner rather than later.

For now, we're just happy that Sky is feeling better and can spend his birthday doing what Border Collies do best—being loved by his family! 🎂🐶💙🎉🐾 Happy Birthday, Sky! 🐾🎉
