One of our favourite patients, Diezel Kotze, recently visited us for a dental procedure.

Diezel is a Schnauzer with a heart of gold, and as always, it was a pleasure to have him in our care. We've come to know and love his sweet, gentle nature, and he never fails to brighten our day when he walks through our doors.

He was an absolute champion for his dental and handled everything like the good boy he is. Keeping those pearly whites clean is an important part of maintaining overall health, and we're delighted that Diezel is now sporting a cleaner, healthier smile. 🦷✨

Some matches are just too cute not to share 🖤🐾

Today, Dr. Leandra had the pleasure of seeing this adorable black Miniature Schnauzer puppy named Zorro for his 2nd vaccination — and we couldn’t help but notice the resemblance! Same dark hair, same sweet eyes, and probably the same level of sass too 😄

Vaccinations are such an important part of keeping puppies healthy, protected, and ready for all the adventures ahead. We love watching our little patients grow stronger with every visit.

When the pre-op meds hit just right 😂💉

Meet Flokkie Joubert, our tiny warrior who came in for her sterilization… but first, she had to take a little detour to dreamland 😴

Watch as the “good stuff” kicks in — fighting sleep like it’s her full-time job, throwing in a few dramatic yawns, and slowly accepting that resistance is futile 😂

Honestly, we’ve all been there… trying to stay awake but your eyelids have other plans 🤣

Don’t worry, Flokkie was in safe hands and did great 💕

Healing looks good on you, Nibbles! 🐾💙

Nibbles, the Wire Haired Fox Terrier recently visited us again — this time for a much happier reason: having his stitches removed by Dr. Leandra! These photos show just how well he’s healed after coming in with a bite wound on his neck/shoulder.

When Nibbles first arrived, his wound was shaved and thoroughly cleaned, sutures were placed, and a drain was inserted to help prevent infection. He also went home with antibiotics to support his recovery. Today, his stitches are out, his drain has long been removed, and he’s back to his playful, energetic self! 🐶✨

🐾 A little pet care reminder:
Dog bite wounds can be far more serious than they look. Small punctures can seal over quickly, trapping bacteria under the skin and leading to painful infections or abscesses.

👉 If your dog has been bitten or involved in a fight, it’s really important to bring them to the vet as soon as possible — even if the wound seems minor. Prompt treatment can prevent complications and help your pet heal properly.

Well done, Nibbles — you were a superstar patient from start to finish! 🌟

Sr. Christelle clearly understood the assignment when Drover and Jessie (professional cuddle experts and part-time spaniel puppies) came in for their vaccinations and had to hang out with us for a bit. Instead of convincing them the kennel isn’t so bad… she just joined them! 🐶💙

Diagnosis: 2 cases of “extreme cuteness”
Treatment: Unlimited cuddles, playtime, and zero personal space for Sr. Christelle 🤭

We take patient comfort very seriously around here… even if it means squeezing into a kennel!

Mila the Bull Terrier was back at the clinic recently for her booster vaccinations — and she handled it like the brave little wiggle-bum she is 💉🐾

Booster shots might not be the most exciting part of a dog’s social calendar, but they are one of the most important. Vaccinations help keep our furry family members protected against serious and potentially life-threatening diseases — including Parvo virus.

We unfortunately have seen quite a few cases of Parvo lately, and it’s a harsh reminder of how real and dangerous this virus is. Canine Parvovirus (CPV) spreads easily, especially in public areas where dogs frequent, and it can survive in the environment for months. It attacks the gastrointestinal tract and immune system, causing severe vomiting, diarrhoea (often bloody), dehydration, and can sadly be fatal — particularly in puppies or unvaccinated dogs.

The good news? Parvo is preventable with proper vaccination.

Keeping up with your dog’s vaccination schedule — including those important boosters — ensures their immunity stays strong. If you’re unsure whether your pet is due, give us a call and we’ll happily check their records for you.
