Unfortunately, this is the reality of people working from home.
Someone gets scammed by paying next to nothing, but not willing to pay what it's worth.
My make loan is R50 per hour. I have been told by NUMEROUS people that I am too cheap.
Yes, I ask a silly amount of money for a lot of work, because I'd rather get some orders than just be a 'oooh, it's pretty, but I can't' on everyone elses feed.
Now take in consideration the fabric costs. Electricity. Wear and tear on the machines. Thread. Snaps or zippers or buttons. Postage for my fabric to get to me
Then what about experience? Normally your 'worth' goes up after several years of doing something. My experience of 10+ years is still only R50 per hour. In corporate I'd get big bucks.
Handmade is exclusive.
Custom made is unique
I make a minimal amount on my items. Especially little people clothing. One person, cutting the fabric, piece by piece. Not magically 20 sets at once. Piece by piece.
I put the pieces together. One by one, making sure it's perfect. I sew those pieces together, one by one. No 20 underpaid ladies in a factory. Me. Myself. Alone.
I do appreciate each and every order I get. Every like. Every comment. Every share.
Byt I won't work for even less. I cannot work for even less
