Ruby and Toby 🐾 are a wonderful pair of unrelated, bonded Beagles who have been together all their lives and would love to stay together in their new home 🏡. Despite being older, you wouldn’t guess it just by looking at them—they still love going for walks on their leads or having a free run in a secure field 🌳 before settling down for the rest of the day. Both adore cuddles and fuss ❤️, and will happily share their human, snuggling up together at the same time 🛋️.

They can be left for a few hours in their crates without any issues and will sleep quietly all night in them 💤.

Since coming into foster care, Ruby and Toby have mixed beautifully with the resident Beagles 🐕, and although they were a little anxious initially, they have now settled in very well 🌟.

Kennels are no place for an older hound.

At Beagle Welfare we understand that one of the reasons for not rehoming older hounds is anxiety about possible vet bills and ill health. For this reason, Beagle Welfare introduced the golden oldie scheme, which is designed to encourage the adoption of middle-aged and older beagles. You can read all about the Golden Oldie scheme on our website. At Beagle Welfare a hound is considered a Golden Oldie at 8 years old or older.

How is this super handsome hound in kennels?

Rocky can live with older children and would like the company of another dog, we feel a bitch would be better. He has never lived with a cat.

Rocky is 8 and has waited more than year to find his forever family. He will need a calm environment with someone who is patient and is willing to teach him how to live in a home. Dogs that have this kind of history need housetraining but very quickly learn about the finer things in life, sofas, good walks, TLC etc.

Rocky is not currently neutered but will be before rehoming. He is based in South Wales.

We all know that at 21 months beagles are still like large puppies.

Poor Bandit, has spent 8 months of this crucial time, for socialization and learning the ways of the world, in kennels. He came to Beagle Welfare because of his owners ill health and through no fault of his own.

Bandit is an energetic soul, as is typical of his age, who would love to get out and explore. He has a lot of time to make up for and is young enough, and eager to, soak up knowledge and grow into the best version of himself.

Bandit could live with another smaller dog, pending successful introductions, he cannot live with cats but will be ok with older children. He currently resides in South Wales.

Charlie has been overlooked for so long, he just needs a chance to shine.

Eight-year-old Charlie has been waiting for a home for 16 months at our rehoming centre in Burton on Trent.

Charlie is a sweet, sensitive lad who needs an quiet, adult only home. He has some anxiety about noises and strangers so needs someone who will give him time to settle in and understand what makes him tick. In return he will love you forever ❤

Charlie may prefer to be the only dog but if you think you can give him what he needs then please call the rehoming centre and discuss him and your current dogs. He has never lived with cats.

Charlie is neutered vaccinated and chipped. He is house trained and can be left for a few hours.

TWO AND A HALF YEARS is how long Roxy has waited for a home.

Roxy would love a sofa to call her own. She is 9, neutered and vaccinated.

She will need a patient owner, with no children or cats. She could live with another beagle or be an only dog but doesn’t like large breeds.
