South African Dog Training College SADTC was started in 1984, in the South of Johannesburg. The aim was, and always has been, to train dogs with humane methods and positive reinforcement.

First up… Bono 🐾
17 years young and still ageing like a fine wine 🍷
After spending 5 YEARS in a rescue waiting for his forever home, one of our handlers said “you’re coming with me”… and the rest is history ❤️
He’s now been part of the club for over 12 years and living his absolute best life.
Proof that it’s never too late for a happy ending.
To many more years, old man — you’re something special ✨
Then there’s Max 😏
Around 10 years old, locked in, focused… waiting for that recall command from what feels like a mile away 👀
The patience. The obedience. Love to see it.

And finally… our newest humans & 🐕💥
Just getting started on their journeys with us — learning, laughing, building a bond.
Safe to say… fun times ahead 🙌

For some, this time it got trickier 🌳🌿 — sneak peeks, some cheating… just pure doggy bliss 🕵️‍♂️🐾
Recall called… and BOOM 💥 — paws pounding, ears flapping, noses locked on target. One by one, dogs homed in like furry missiles 🚀❤️
Takeaway: Distance, distractions, stealth level 100… didn’matter. When their person calls, these dogs answer. Loudly. Fast. With feelings.
Official verdict: Still obsessed. Still adorable. Still zero chill 🐶💨

Yesterday we played Hide-and-Seek… but slightly differently 🐕✨ Human & Dog — Part 1

Handlers snuck off behind trees 🌳 (some dogs got to spy 👀, the advanced ones had to trust their noses and hearts ❤️). Then came the recall…

Result? ZERO hesitation. Every single dog launched into full turbo mode straight to their human — a few handlers were not emotionally prepared for that level of enthusiasm 🤪💨

Conclusion: 10/10, all dogs are obsessed with their people. Science confirmed.

A few weeks back some of our therapy dogs in training went through to the Heidelberg Vereniging Vir Bejaardes, to spread some love as only dogs can do.
It was a great success with lots of tears of joy from handlers and residents, and lots of love and affection showered by dogs (of all sizes) and humans.
Some of the residents haven't seen dogs or their pets since being in the home, faces lighting up when interacting with the teams.
Just touching fur, showing love, receiving it and having the complete attention of these amazing dogs and handlers, made their morning.
We would like to thank each handler and dog team who attended, for making this outing memorable for all the individuals, and of course the instructors who arranged the outing and made sure it was a huge success.
It is truly special what you are doing, thank you all.
