🦆 Did You Know? Meet the Fulvous Whistling Duck! 🦆

The Fulvous Whistling Duck is a beautiful and unique waterfowl known for its rich caramel-brown (fulvous) colour and long legs. Unlike most ducks, these birds are often seen standing tall and even perching in trees!

🔍 Interesting Facts:

• They get their name from the soft whistling calls they make to communicate
• They are very social and are usually found in flocks
• They prefer wetlands, marshes, and shallow waters where they feed on seeds, grasses, and small aquatic life
• Both males and females look very similar, making them tricky to tell apart
These ducks are active both day and night and are known for their graceful movements and strong flying ability.

🌿🦆 Did You Know? The Beautiful Carolina Duck! 🦆🌿

The Carolina Duck, also known as the Wood Duck, is one of the most stunning and colourful ducks in the world! ✨ The males are especially eye-catching, with vibrant greens, blues, and chestnut colours, while the females have a more subtle but elegant grey-brown look with a distinct white eye-ring.

🌳 Unique Nesting Habit

Unlike most ducks, Carolina Ducks prefer to nest in tree cavities near water. Their ducklings even take a brave leap from the nest shortly after hatching!

💧 Where They Live

They love calm waters like ponds, lakes, and slow-moving rivers where they can easily find food such as seeds, insects, and small aquatic life.

• The male Mandarin Duck has bright orange “sail” feathers, a purple chest, and intricate patterns — making it one of the most colorful birds on earth.
