-Off Leash Exercise Park We operate Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm. Extended hours can be arranged.

Paws and Play Doggy Day Care is run by a passionate team of dog loving professionals who cater for all suitable dogs. Situated in the heart of Kyalami, Paws and Play Doggy Day Care understands that dogs are a vital part of the family! Our aim is to give them the exercise and stimulation they deserve, while socializing and playing with other friendly dogs. Our guests are under constant supervision,

and we take pride in ensuring each dog receives an enriching experience. Many owners have demanding jobs and social lives, and are forced to leave their dogs unattended all day. There are no safe public parks in the area for people to exercise their dogs off leash. Boredom and lack of exercise can lead to destructive behaviour such as digging and nuisance barking. At Paws and Play, dogs are trained within the element of play, they learn to socialise appropriately with other dogs, they are stimulated physically, emotionally and mentally, and when you collect them later in the afternoon, they are quiet, calm and ready for a peaceful evening with their family. We work on a monthly contract that is paid up front. Our rates are as follows:-

Assessment and introduction day – R350, this includes tick and flea treatment and deworming

1 Day a week – R150

2/3 Days a week – R100 per day

A shout out to schnauzer owners who are interested in the health of their schnauzers … Inanda Veterinary Hospital, a specialist veterinary hospital in Natal, is testing miniature schnauzers in its research into the prevalence of idiopathic hypertriglyceridaemia (elevated blood fats) in the breed. Fourways Veterinary Hospital will be the venue on15 and 16 July 2017.

Your schnauzer will have a simple blood test and, if positive, be assigned to one of two groups - low-fat diet group or fat-lowering drug group. After four weeks (halfway through the process) and a retest, the patients will swap over to the other group. There is no cost to you, as food, medication and any medical exams are subsidised.

All my boys donate - please consider if your pup is up to weight

Having already administered 44 blood transfusions in February, we are urgently in need of blood donors such as Harry Bier (pictured below giving a fellow hound a second chance).

Donors must be between one and eight years of age and will receive, in recognition of their three-monthly donation, tick and flea treatment for three months, deworming, vaccinations and R300 for treatment or products at the practice.

Donors are mildly sedated and the process takes about 45 minutes.
