Long goodbyes, messy feelings… and a moment I almost kept to myself.

I’ve been holding on to this video (and another fun little one featuring my boy Chester) for a couple of weeks, unsure whether to share it.

It made a brief debut (about half an hour) by mistake—I hadn’t prepared anything to go with it. I still wasn’t 100% health-wise, so the brain fog felt like a valid reason to delay my peek-a-boo return to social media.

So here it is—warts and all, but more importantly, REAL. Because it’s how it happened, how we all felt, and how it wanted to be shared.

Long goodbyes can be torturous, and this was no exception. What’s not in the video is that I later received the most uplifting clips of Aluna, Alaia, and Yuki arriving home. A magical, healing balm—drying up a full day of tears. Acceptance and gratitude replaced the guilt and angst, and everything felt right again.

Another positive—I FINALLY figured out why my video quality has been so poor when recording by myself (took me a while 😄). So the next hotel story will be much clearer.

I thought about re-recording this—but it would have looked better and felt less real. And that matters more to me.

Welcome to our eccentric little dog world—sometimes emotional, sometimes messy, sometimes fun—but always full of love, and always real.

🌸The story of Louie & Candy 🌸

For a long time I wanted to share our stories, my stories, the stories of our dogs, of life, of our lessons and what we get up to (other than our music videos) - which are special, wonderful stories in their own way - however they don’t quite have the depth of expression I ache for.

There are so many experiences we have with the babies, that deserve to be told. In fact I’ve had nudges from several clients urging me to share more about what goes on behind the scenes, (the stuff that makes all the difference), the realness of our life and what we’ve learned from the babies, and what we REALLY do - other than lie in the sun sipping tea and dancing around of course!
I came to realise that a vlogging/podcast vibe would suite me in order to quite literally “TELL our stories.” To say it hasn’t scared the hell if me to do this, would be an absolute lie, which is why I’ve been pussyfooting around it for years, and years, and YEARS, and this week, well this week, something shifted - something changed, and I decided to just start, wherever I started, and I happened to start right here, sharing this with you today. To pack away my own personal judgment, and free myself from the chains of my mind! Anyway I’m not going to explain myself or my motives any further, I think you get the point.

My video should speak for itself, and who knows where this may lead…all I know is I’m excited to open up and invite you all to step inside our world a little more, and get the behind the scenes “back stories” to our regular content, with some wisdom, humour and a dose of reality poured in! If these kinds of things are your vibe, then welcome! Oh, and fyi, the video quality I kept complaining in my video WAS initially grainy, and quite shadowy (as I filmed late at night), and was NOT great at all until my video editor worked its magic! So YAY for that! 👏🏻👏🏻

P.S. And thank you to little Louie and Candy for being the soft catalyst into my being a braver version of myself than I was before. I will forever be grateful! 🩷 I found out from their Mom that they will be visiting AGAIN next year in July for a month!!! So all is right with the world!
