Rabies Awareness Month🐾
What is Rabies?
Rabies is a deadly viral disease that affects the nervous system of mammals including dogs ,cats, wildlife and humans.💉
The virus is mainly spread through the saliva of an infected animal ,usually through a bite .lt can also enter the body through scratches or contact with saliva on broken skin or mucous membranes.
Rabies is a Zoonotic Disease
🐾This means rabies can be transmitted from animals to people.
Once clinical signs appear ,rabies is almost always fatal .However ,rabies can be prevented through timely vaccination and urgent medical treatment after exposure.
🇿🇦Rabies remains a public health concern in South Africa, with infections occurring in domestic animals and wildlife .Dogs remain an important source of human rabies exposure in many areas.🐾

LOUIS HAS BEEN FOUND! Thank goodness, and thank you to everyone who shared the post, it all led to his safe return home!!🥰🐾

💔 LOUIS HAS NOW BEEN MISSING FOR 14 DAYS 💔

It has been two weeks since our beloved Louis went missing, and we are becoming increasingly concerned.

At this point, we truly believe that someone may be feeding him or has taken him in. Cats cannot survive for 14 days without food, and despite extensive searching, the sniffer dogs we have used on two separate occasions have not located him. This gives us hope that he is still alive and somewhere in or around Douglasdale.

We had a possible sighting of Louis last week, but since then we have had absolutely no further leads.

We know animal communicators aren't everyone's cup of tea, but both communicators we have spoken to independently believe that Louis is alive and being cared for in someone's home.

Please, please, please keep an eye out.

🐾 If you see a cat that looks like Louis in your neighbourhood 🐾 If a friend, neighbour, or family member has suddenly acquired a new cat 🐾 If you see him wandering around Douglasdale or surrounding areas 🐾 If you work at a complex, security estate, vet practice, pet shop, or animal welfare organisation

Please let us know immediately.

Louis is microchipped, posters have been placed throughout the area, and local veterinary practices have been notified. We are offering a reward for information leading to his safe return.

We are absolutely desperate to bring our boy home.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has shared his posts, sent messages, made phone calls, helped search, suggested ideas, put up posters, and supported us over the past two weeks. The kindness of this community has meant more than you know.
