✨ SQUIGGLE OUR LITTLE UNICORN CAT ✨

The best way to describe Squiggle? She’s a unicorn cat, completely one of a kind.

When we first shared her, we received several applications and enquiries. But after careful consideration, none felt quite right for her. With a cat as special as Squiggle, “almost right” just isn’t enough 😊

We are looking for a unicorn home to match her.

Squiggle is adored in her foster home and is more than welcome to stay as long as it takes to home her. But, she truly deserves a space of her own where her unique personality can shine.

While there is nothing clinically wrong with her, Squiggle is different in the most wonderful way. Having grown up around both cats and dogs, she doesn’t quite fit into either box:

* With cats, she thinks she’s one of them
* With dogs, she becomes one of the pack

Her energy is high, busy, and very interactive, this is sometimes even a bit much for her current four legged foster siblings. When she’s bored or under-stimulated, she acts out.

What Squiggle needs:

* A home where someone is around most of the time (ideally works from home)
* Someone patient and understanding of her need for constant interaction
* A young feline, playful companion ideally a confident kitten or energetic young teenage cat
* A playful, cat-friendly dog
* A family who embraces her in-your-face, affectionate, busy personality

This is not a “low-maintenance” cat, she is a big personality in a small body.

We are in no rush to home Squiggle. The right home matters far more than a quick placement.

GIMLI & NORI

Remember our two bottle babies from a few weeks ago who were cruelly thrown from a car at a petrol station?

Well, look at them now all grown up and officially ready to find a home of their very own together ❤️

Gimli and Nori are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Typical bottle babies, they are incredibly affectionate, needy, and have absolutely no understanding of personal space 🤣. They do everything together, eat together, sleep together, play together, and follow their humans around like tiny shadows.

These two are full of love, mischief, and endless cuddles, and they’re looking for a family who will adore them as much as we do.

MEET TOMMY 🤍

Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out in his current home for a number of reasons, despite his mom doing absolutely everything she possibly can. Through no fault of his own, Tommy now finds himself looking for a new forever home. 😢

Tommy is a chilled, gentle soul who loves curling up on laps, getting head scratches, and being brushed. Treats are always appreciated (he’ll never say no to a snack). While he’ll happily play now and then, his favourite things are long naps in sunny spots and burrowing under a cozy blanket when it’s cold.

He’s been through a lot of change over the last few months, and we truly need his next home to be his final one. Right now he’s understandably a little confused and overwhelmed, so he’s looking for someone patient, calm, and loving to help him feel safe again.

If you’re looking for a low-key companion to share quiet moments with, Tommy may be your perfect match.

Tommy’s ideal home:

• Indoor-only home
• An apartment or home with a catio would be ideal
• No other cats
• No dogs
• Preferably a female-only home, as he is nervous around men
• He is currently eating Hill's Prescription Diet Urinary Care food and we’d ideally like him to remain on it, as stress has caused him to struggle with UTIs over the past few months
• Gauteng homes only

Tommy is 5 years old, neutered, microchipped, up to date with all routine veterinary care, and otherwise a healthy boy.

UPDATE THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED

Lulu, Spot & Stripe, 8-year-old triplets

They were never meant to be here this long. 💔

Three months ago, Lulu, Spot, and Stripe were dropped at cattery with the promise that their family would come back for them once they settled in their new province. They waited. And waited.

Now, finally the truth has come out, their owners aren’t coming back. 😢

Because of a lease that doesn’t allow pets, these three cats have lost the only home they’ve ever known. And they don’t understand why.

Kitty Religion has given them safety, love and care, but a cattery is not a home.

We know asking for all three together is a lot, but they’ve already lost everything they’ve know;

* Lulu (the tortie) is a little more independent and could be okay to be homed on her own
* Spot & Stripe share a quiet, special bond and we would love for them to stay together.

They are gentle souls, older now, with so much love still to give.

Please don’t let them spend any more time waiting for someone who isn’t coming.

ENZO & HICCUP 🖤 🤍

Our beautiful boys Enzo and Hiccup have had no inquiries.

After their litter mates went home they were both lonely and so we decided to integrate them and they became instant friends. They now share a very special bond, although they’re not biologically related. ❤️

We’d love for them to be adopted together as Enzo specifically does cry when he can’t find Hiccup but now that they’re integrated fully into their foster home, Enzo could cope on his own. We would love nothing more than to home them as a pair but wil consider homes for them individually.

Both boys are super social, outgoing and vocal. They love to curl up next to eachother, the other cats and dogs in their foster home and are both lap cats. They also both real foods and will tell you when it’s breakfast and dinner time😊

They’re used to a busy home and will do well in any home.

A life taken brutally, a life that never asked to be born, the result of irresponsible ownership and a litter that should never have existed. 😔

A mother cat is still out there, unsterilised. One kitten is dead. Two kittens are alive, but just hours ago, they had their mom and their sibling.

Our day began with a call from a colleague who had stopped at a petrol station. Just minutes before she arrived, someone pulled up and threw three 3 x 3 week old kittens out of a car.

Tragically during this process a kitten became separated from the others and was hit by a car and killed instantly.

We are devastated. We are angry. And honestly, we are speechless. 💔

It’s 2026. There is no excuse.

If you don’t want a litter, sterilise your pets.
If you can’t afford it, ask for help. There are organisations that will assist with reduced rates and payment plans.

If you cannot keep your animals or have unwanted litters, surrender them to the SPCA.

Dumping is not kindness. It’s illegal and it’s most certainly is not “giving them a chance.”
It is cruelty.

Today, a life was lost because of a careless, inhumane decision.
And somewhere out there, a mother cat remains unsterilised, meaning this cycle of suffering is almost guaranteed to repeat.

This is also a stark and important reminder that animal abandonment needs to be reported to the SPCA so that it can be prosecuted. Animal abandonment will not stop, and people will not treat it as an illegal act if we do not treat it seriously and report it. We recently had two people become upset with us when we encouraged them to report abandonment to the SPCA, but this is a perfect example of why we say you should do this. These people will continue to do this if they know there are no consequences. Let this be your reminder to ALWAYS REPORT ABANDONMENT.

We originally asked for help naming these girls, never imagining that finding them a home would happen so quickly.

Then along came Jéannine and her family. They initially planned to adopt just one kitten and had their hearts set on a black or black and white kitten but as fate would have it, they fell completely in love with both girls who share a very special bond.

We received so many beautiful name suggestions, but felt it was only right to give their new family the honour of naming them.

And so, meet Katie and Sadie already happy, loved, and right at home ❤️

Meet Enzo 🖤

Enzo is the youngest and last kitten we removed from the Parkmore colony. We’ve loved him watching his little personality blossom over the last few weeks in foster care.

One of his most unique features is his eyes which haven’t changed yet. While we still expect them to, they are absolutely beautiful and just add to his charm.

Enzo has also perfectly trained his foster family 😄
During his quarantine days, he was kept in the bathroom where he got all his treats. A creature of habit and a serious foodie, whenever he’s hungry, he runs back to that exact spot and loudly demands his wet food. Enzo loves his meals a little too much, he’s slightly rounder than we’d prefer, but we’re working on that😊

It’s now time for this special boy to find a home of his own.

He can be homed with cats, and dogs who are cat friendly. He’s well socialised and super confident. He must have another feline companion.

HICCUP 🤍

Hiccup and his brother came into foster care yesterday, although we’ve been involved in their case for a few weeks now. Their other two siblings have already gone home, and we’ve just confirmed a home for Toothless this afternoon with one of our very first adopters ❤️

We’re so happy to share that all the cats in the household they came from were sterilised yesterday. A very special thank you to Neelam Bayat for sponsoring their mom’s sterilisation.

Now it’s Hiccup’s turn to find his forever home 🏡
His brother will be going home on Tuesday, and we’d really love for Hiccup to have a home waiting for him so he’s not left on his own.

Hiccup will need a home with another feline friend. He’s been exposed to both cats and dogs and can happily join a home with both as long as an introduction is done correctly.
