Meet Milo, the 13-year-old Persian who travelled all the way from Dubai to his new home in Durban! 🐾✈️

His journey took him through Turkey and Cape Town, with an overnight stay at Shalom Cattery before his final flight with FlySafair to Durban.

Persian cats can face airline restrictions due to their flat-faced breed, making international pet relocation more complex. With careful planning and export assistance from Guangcai Pet Travel, Milo’s journey came together.

Now, this well-travelled gentleman is finally home with the Rheeders! ❤️

Moving home with the entire family is stressful enough, but assuming your pets can simply be bundled together might be a costly miscalculation. Even companions sharing the exact same roof often require completely different travel permits, crate requirements, and veterinary timelines to stay safe and settled on the journey. Ensuring every tail wags on arrival hinges on one crucial approach most owners overlook.

Moving your feline companion across continents is far more intricate than simply booking a flight, especially when swapping the arid heat of Dubai for the temperate coastal breezes of Durban. Whilst most pet owners naturally fret over the daunting mountain of import paperwork, the real secret to a calm relocation lies in treating your cat as an individual traveller rather than standard cargo.

From bespoke travel crates to managing unexpected climate shock, a few clever veterinary-led adjustments could dramatically change how peacefully your cat settles into their new coastal life.

The thought of sending your beloved pet into an aeroplane hold is enough to fill any owner with utter dread. Surprisingly, these dedicated compartments actually share the exact same pressurised oxygen supply as the passenger cabin, with the dim lighting intentionally designed to mimic a cosy, calming den. However, navigating the strict seasonal safeguards and carrier requirements behind the scenes is where preparing for their journey gets truly interesting.
