Hilton Vet Hospital

A little glimpse of one of the less clinical corners of Hilton Vet.

Sometimes, a wall full of toys is exactly what’s needed to help a nervous patient feel a little more at home. 🐾

Happy Nurses Day to our incredible veterinary nursing team! 💙

Behind every patient we care for is a team of nurses who show up with patience, compassion and a genuine love for what they do. From the little moments of comfort to the long hours spent caring for patients, you make a difference in ways that go far beyond what people see.

We’re so grateful to have you as part of the Hilton Veterinary Hospital team. Thank you for the care you give our patients and the support you give each other every day.

Today, we celebrate you! 🤗💙💙💙

What happens if your pet needs us after hours? Because emergencies don’t wait for office hours. 🐾

When your pet is staying at Hilton Vet, their care doesn’t stop when the day ends. Our hospitalised patients continue to receive the monitoring, treatment and attention they need throughout the night or over the weekend.

And sometimes, pets need veterinary care when they aren’t already in hospital. Our after-hours emergency service means that if your pet becomes unwell or has an emergency outside our normal consulting hours, a veterinarian is on call to attend to them at the hospital.

An after-hours surcharge applies to consultations during this service.

So if something doesn’t seem right with your pet after hours, you don’t have to wait until morning to seek veterinary attention. 💙

A new chapter for veterinary care in KwaZulu-Natal - Hilton Veterinary Hospital

06/10/2026

A new chapter for veterinary care in KwaZulu-Natal 🎉

What a way to celebrate the launch of KZN Vets MRI and its new dedicated MRI facility at Hilton Veterinary Hospital & Specialist Referral Centre.

We're proud to mark this exciting milestone alongside the veterinary teams, referring vets, partners and everyone who helped bring the facility to fruition.

For local vets, KZN Vets MRI provides access to dedicated MRI for our patients, helping investigate complex neurological, spinal and other challenging cases with detailed diagnostic imaging.

For pet owners, it means greater access to specialist veterinary MRI in KwaZulu-Natal, right here in Hilton.

Most importantly, it gives veterinary teams another valuable tool to help get clearer answers when a case needs a closer look.

A special thank you to Lomaen Medical, who supplied the MRI equipment and played an important role in bringing this facility to life. We would also like to thank Esaote, the company behind the MRI system, for their role in making this technology available to KZN Vets MRI.

And of course, thank you to everyone else who helped make this milestone possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate. Here's a little look at the launch! 🥂

Jack is making history as our first MRI patient. 🐾

His MRI scan helped guide the diagnosis of a disc problem, allowing our team to perform the surgery he needed.

And now? He’s back on his feet, running around and happily home again! 🐶

A huge thank you to Dr Di Foden at Aragon Vets for recognising the urgency and referring Jack to us promptly. Cases like this are a great reminder of what can happen when veterinary teams work together, with the right expertise and timely referral.

Here’s to many more happy, healthy zoomies, Jack! 💙

If your dog or cat's breath has started to make you wince, it's easy to assume it's just ""normal pet breath""

It is not.

We see this assumption every week, and it's one of the most common reasons dental disease goes undiagnosed until it's already causing pain.

Bad breath is usually a sign, not a given. Read our latest blog to find out more: www.hiltonvethospital.co.za/why-does-my-pets-breath-smell/
