Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park is situated 4 km outside the picturesque town of Heidelberg in southern Gauteng on the Boschfontein Road at the foothills of the Suikerbosrand. The yard is a mere 30 minutes’ drive from southern Johannesburg and 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of Heidelberg. Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park offers the following services:

Riding lessons from beginner to advanced

level by a qualified and experienced instructor. The yard welcomes any rider from the age of 3 years to adult. Safe and supervised pony walks are available for toddlers. Riding lessons are offered in the following disciplines: show jumping, dressage, equitation and eventing. Carlisle also welcomes happy hackers and those who simply wish to learn how to ride a horse and not compete. Lessons are either structured group lessons or private lessons. The well-being of all horses under our care is paramount, whether it is our school ponies or your private horse. Our grooms have many years of experience and have a keen eye for picking up any problems a horse may have timeously. Outrides. Outrides for the general public are arranged on request, the horses used for these outrides are well schooled, calm and experienced. The yard also offers two annual endurance events. A shorter ride for the little ones or those who are not yet competent in canter and a three-day ride for the more advanced riders. Furthermore, the yard offers moonlight outrides in the warmer months, which is a magical experience. Pony camps. Carlisle hosts two pony camps during the December/January school holidays. These are guaranteed to be fun filled and educational for the children under 24 hour adult supervision. Ponies are available for children’s parties or the yard can be used as a venue for your child’s birthday party at our lapa and farmyard. The yard is also a beautiful location for photo shoots (matric farewell, Valentine’s ball, weddings, etc…). Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park offers the following facilities:
- 22 large airy brick stables
- 22 large airy wooden stables
- 1 sand arena
- 1 split-level derby arena
- 2 lunge arenas
- Free jump lane
- Group paddocks
- Individual paddocks

The following facilities are currently under construction (construction scheduled to be completed soon):
- 2 tack rooms
- A clubhouse lounge
- A bathroom with shower facility
- A small kitchen with coffee and tea making station
- A hospital block with a foaling block, solarium, crush and isolation stable

Volkies is ongelooflik trots op nóg een van ons oudleerders wat die wêreld daar buite met harde werk, deursettingsvermoë en uitnemendheid aanpak!

Baie geluk aan Tamara van Vuuren met haar besonderse akademiese prestasies aan die Universiteit van Pretoria. 🌟

Tamara het haar Baccalaureusgraad in Landbouwetenskappe: Veekunde met onderskeiding verwerf — ‘n prestasie waarop sy met reg baie trots kan wees.

Sy is verder benoem vir die SASAS Merit Award vir Beste Finalejaarstudent van 2025 aan die Universiteit van Pretoria, ‘n besondere eer wat slegs aan uitstaande studente toegeken word.

Asof dit nie reeds indrukwekkend genoeg is nie, het Tamara ook ‘n 1ste plek behaal tydens die Universiteit van Pretoria se VKU 400 Seminar Symposium 2025 en is sy aangewys as die topstudent van 2025. 🏆

Tamara het onlangs terug gekom Heidelberg toe. Sy het 'n waardevolle ses maande internskap by Woodstock Eventing in Amerika afgelê.
Sy besluit tans of sy haar Meestersgraad wil gedin of met 'n loopbaan wil begin, maar sy sê;
"n werkie op n plaas roep definitief my naam."

Tamara, jou toewyding, passie en harde werk is vir ons ‘n inspirasie. Volkies vier saam met jou hierdie ongelooflike mylpale en wens jou net die mooiste toekoms toe.

Riding a horse is many things... It's sport, it's competitiveness, it's perseverance, it's poetry in motion, it's therapy, it's hope, it's scary sometimes, it's sheer joy... But most of all it's an absolute privilege ❤️
