We look at this face and see a very committed 7:00 AM carrot collection supervisor. 🥕

Billy the rescue donkey would also like everyone to know that his sheepskin trim is entirely intentional, highly fashionable, and absolutely non-negotiable.

As Dunkes’ self-appointed Manager of Morale, Billy takes his responsibilities very seriously:
• collecting treats
• supervising guests
• inspecting grass
• and ensuring nobody starts the day without acknowledging him first

Whether your coffee has kicked in yet is, unfortunately, not Billy’s concern. 🤍

Every single carrot served at Dunkes must first pass Wollie’s very strict inspection process. 🥕

This includes:
• Carrying it around proudly
• Aggressively dismantling it
• Inspecting every fibre individually
• Leaving carrot remnants across the farm
• Repeating the process immediately

Efficiency is not his strength.

But enthusiasm? 10/10. 🤍

Some days at Dunkes move a little slower. 🌿

Morning mist over the paddocks.
Horses grazing quietly in the distance.
Coffee that somehow tastes better in mountain air.
And sunsets that make the whole farm feel golden for a little while.

Off-grid, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature - there’s something restorative about life here.

Maybe it’s the stillness.
Maybe it’s the animals.
Maybe it’s both. ✨

After so many beautiful suggestions from this incredible community, one name quietly stood out again and again… ✨

Nova.

Meaning “new star” and symbolising hope, light, and new beginnings - it felt like the perfect name for this little girl.

Somehow, after heartbreak, Pearl and Nova found each other exactly when they needed to. And now, they begin their new chapter together here at Dunkes. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who shared such thoughtful and heartfelt name suggestions. We loved reading every single one.

Sometimes, a story of rescue is actually a story of finding family. 🤍

Our newest mare recently experienced the heartbreak of losing her foal. But while she was at the rescue center, something beautiful happened: a baby found comfort in her, and they chose each other. 🐴

Naturally, we couldn’t bring one home without the other. They are officially part of the Dunkes herd, and we are so grateful to the for allowing us to give them a second chance, together. 🌿
