We offer a volunteer program where you can be part of the rehabilitation and experience the horses in an amazing environment and on trails.

🖤Mars & Ballisto🧡 an update everyone has been waiting for!

Don’t let the first video fool you, it has taken since the 20th of July for us to get to this point. Time, patience and perseverance from our incredible volunteers has got us to where we are now with these two youngsters.

From sitting in the paddock on camping chairs, to mucking out their paddock with them standing close by, and making food offerings (we have nothing against a little bit of bribery 🍪) they are warming up a little more each day, learning that we have nothing other than love and kindness to offer 🧡

Yet to be able to handle or groom them, they are looking a bit scruffy, but now with them actively accepting food, they’ll start picking up some weight ✨

Some guests visit once and leave with memories. Some visit once and never quite manage to stay away🐴🌍

Meet Elli, on her fifth visit to Khaya Hanci, and still counting. From her very first ride through the African bush to the friendships, the horses, and the moments in between that are impossible to put into words, Elli has become part of the fabric of this place. And this place has become part of her.

Here’s what she had to say 👇

“Khaya Hanci became a very special place to me. I had the chance to experience South Africa in a way i couldn’t imagine before.

Discover stunning nature and wildlife from horses back, find my place in the daily farm routine and work with a herd of wonderful horses. Each one with their own story, background and training plan. To see their progress and growth is just fulfilling.

I lived together with a lot of funny and amazing people and created friendships that will last forever ♡

I learnt a lot about myself and where I belong. I’m forever thankful for all the amazing memories and experiences.

And it’ll allways be a see you again ♡”
